There is no exact number of days, as it depends upon a variety of things, like the health condition of the mother and the type of delivery it was. It also depends upon the health of your baby, as the baby is vulnerable to complications in the first few days.

Symptoms are the most important. Contractions - regular hardening of the entire womb Leaking water - when your water bag bursts and you need to get to the hospital Bleeding - fresh/stale blood Diminished movements Braxton Hicks - false contractions Labour - regular painful contractions leading to dilation of the cervix Cervix - opening to the womb Painkillers (Laughing gas/Nitrous oxide) - makes you temporarily high for you to forget the pain Epidural - administered into a space in the spain to numb the lower half of the body Station - level of the lowest part of the baby in relation to the mother. If the station is high, it means that the baby is still quite deep in the pelvis. If low, it means delivery might come soon.

My 13.5mo gal is still waking up twice a night to drink!! Anyone facing same situation? She used to drop off to once a night but this past week she has been waking up twice a day.. so many babies have slept through the bight but mine is still waking up like a newborn to drink :( I do give her dinner and a little snack and milk before bedtime.. When she wakes up at night she can finish a bottle of 135ml! I thought maybe she is just thirsty but it seems like she is hungry or is she just drinking out of habit? What should I do?

It could be her comfort. There is nothing wrong with it. It's normal dear. Be patient. my boy used to wake up thrice a night at that age.

Hi baby caught a cold recently and I gave her the runny nose Med left over from last time she was sick. Now her runny nose is better but a lot of phlegm and making it hard to sleep. When infant catch a cold does doc prescribe phlegm Med too? Was thinking no need to see doc this time as my gal screams every time she sees the doc but not sure if the phlegm will go off on its own?

Some doctor will prescribe flumacil for baby. Alternatively, you can go to Yuguo baby and children massage at Kembangan Plaze basement 1. Waiting time for baby is usualy faster.

Hi anyone's babies had UTI before? How long was your baby put on antibiotics and is it a must to go for MCU scan after that?

My gal was put on antibiotics for 6 weeks is it normal?

If my baby has fever of temp in high 37 for about 3 days, should I bring her back to see PD? Or continue to give Panadol? She went to see the PD four days ago and the temp came down after a day. But went up again yesterday and till not still hovering around high 37 and sometimes 38 she is 10mo

I will bring to pd since the fever did not subside.

Hi anyone's babies caught stomach flu before? My gal seems to have caught it from her cousin. I have brought her to see a PD but he only prescribed probiotics and told me I can continue to give solids. Did the PD give other medicine for stomach flu and what did you feed baby during those few days? My gal only has a slight fever and runny nose which PD said is due to her left ear is bit infected. I keep hearing my gal pass gas and she seems to keep having some liquid bubbling sound in the throat and she tries to swallow it down.

How long is long for constipation in a 10mo baby before I bring her to see the PD. Today is the fourth day baby hasn't popped and this is the first time. Previously her poo is hard but she still poos everyday or every other day although she has to squeeze hard. But this time she doesn't even really squeeze, it is as if she doesn't feel stomach pain or urge to poo at all. I give her probiotics drops everyday already. And her diet consists of mostly veggies and sweet potatoes. I have also given her yoghurt this week to help her poo but she still did not. Also tried tummy massage but still no use . Any advice

Is your LO breastfed or formula fed?
