Low yield from 1 breast while weaning from the pump

My child is approaching the 2 year mark. And I’m in the process of cutting down on my pumping sessions.While milk yield has decreased (as expected) with my reduced pumping,  I’ve realised over the last 2 weeks that the decrease is much sharper for my left breast compared to the right.I now get between 40-60 mls per session from the right breast, but only 5 mls at the most from the left.  I use a double electric pump, so I’m pumping both breasts for the same amount of time.The left breast has always yielded about 30-40% lesser than the right. But it’s never been this significantly uneven. Could this be a blocked duct or is this normal? #pump #weaning

Aiyooo, thats quite a drop from your left side lah! Even though one breast always produces less, a sudden jump to just 5ml is definitely worth getting checked out, could be a blocked duct, or sometimes during weaning our bodies can be funny and one side just decides to tap out faster than the other, but its not typical to be that extreme. Id suggest messaging your lactation consultant or doctor just to be safe, especially since you mentioned the left has always been the slower producer, they can do a quick feel to check if theres anything blocking, sebab sometimes we dont notice a minor blockage forming until it affects output significantly. A few of my mum friends had similar scares during weaning and it was just a partial blockage that cleared after gentle massage or a feed, so dont panic yet! Hope it sorts itself out quickly for you.
