When will baby start to sleep lesser?

Perhaps 2/3 months onwards they have more awake time. My boy is 2.5 months now and can be awake up to 5 hours hours during the day, quite tiring for me sometimes and he tends to get cranky as he will tire himself if he doesnt get enough sleep. So i still ensure that there is a balance between naps and awake time during the day.
