Aside from how your day went and the kids, what you do you discuss at the dinner table with your spouse?

Sad to say, usually i don't talk much to my partner about our daily life or kids development. We work together but we just don't seem to be able to talk and communicate properly. He don't seem interested in the kids's work or progress. Especially when our elder son is going thru spelling and test. Additional classes on monday & tuesday which he don't bother asking how was it and all. Sighs.
