Aside from how your day went and the kids, what you do you discuss at the dinner table with your spouse?

Growing up, I loved going to dinner at a good friend's house because their conversations were just so interesting. They were a very intellectual family, so they would choose a trending news item and discuss that topic exclusively. I always learned a lot, and over time, I made sure that I was well read and up to date with the news just so I could keep up!

Apart from topics you mentioned above, our favorite topic is discussing about our next big trip. This generally gets us going :) We discuss about our future plans be it our careers, finance, new movies that we don't wanna miss, new restaurants we want to try, upcoming social visits and the list goes on!!

Aaaaaaanything at all! Having a partner is like having a full-time best friend with you. My husband and I talk about the good stuff in life - food, history, friends, family, hobby... Anything positive. We don't usually do confrontations during meal time, that'll be done when our kid is already asleep.

Usually we will talk about our past. As my husband and i got married really fast after knowing each other. We have yet to really 'dated' each other to know each other well. So each time we have a chance to sit down and have a proper meal together. We will be talking about our own past.

Somethings we talk about boring things like the news. Complain about some silly rules that we've heard. Sometimes we discuss holiday plans or what activities we hope (hope being the keyword) to do. Mostly any random stuff that popped into our heads.

I have to admit mostly the things revolve around these topics only, but apart from that we keep our conversations busy in planning trips, outings every weekend, any family ceremonies as we have very big families from both sides.

Sometimes, we plan our next trip or when to fly back to Singapore. Mostly, if it's not work or household related stuff, it's the latest episode of our favourite tv show or what major thing happened in the news today.

We discuss all possible random stuff...office gossips...nosey neighbours and where we should we go for a vacation next... We also pick up a debate just for the heck of it and enjoy the argument :D..
