Oh mama, I totally understand your worry especially with your delivery coming up so soon! From what I've heard, the fever after a flu jab usually peaks within the first day or two and should settle within 24 to 36 hours, so if your girl's fever is dragging on longer than that, it is more likely she caught something from childcare on top of the jab reaction, which honestly is not that unusual for kids in school, just bad timing for you right now. The cough and reduced appetite can linger a bit longer, sometimes up to a week or two, and I will be honest, I have heard of a handful of kids who had it rough for a couple of weeks, so it is not always the quick two-day thing some people expect. My neighbour brought her toddler for the flu jab last year and said the same thing, mild fever the first day was fine, but the cough dragged on because her girl picked up something else from school around the same time. Do keep monitoring your girl's temperature and make sure she is resting and drinking enough fluids, but please also loop in your gynae or the doctor handling your delivery about the situation at home, because they will be best placed to advise you on precautions before your C-section, you really do not want to navigate that alone!
