Private NIPT clinics

Hi, could I get some suggestions on which private clinics you have done successful NIPT test and the charges? Also the type of NIPT offered whether panorama or igene.

I did mine at astra women clinic. They offer the normal NIPT and comprehensive one. For mine, its igene. Did the comprehensive one for both pregnancies n got results

Is it true that if FTS shows high risk or positive, the cost for NIPT in KKH becomes subsidised?

Is it true that the cost of NIPT becomes about 300+ if FTS shows high risk? I read in Facebook groups that they received that price but I asked my counsellor ar KKH and she said no, there is no subsidy price for NIPT (theirs is called Harmony test). They quote me 700+ for NIPT and said price remains that even if I do FTS first and FTS shows high risknipt Confused. Appreciate any sharing of experiences and when you did the tests. Yes it’s true, NIPT is $700+ if you opt for it yourself, but if you do FTS first and there’s a high risk and gynae recommends you to do NIPT after, it will be subsidised. But the subsidy is not that much, after subsidy about $500-600+ so we decided to do NIPT first instead of waiting.

Hair dye first trimester (attending friends

Hi all, is there a hair dye (prefer home diy) or salon dye that is safe during first trimester? Attending a friend's wedding reception and have so many grey hairs ☹️🫣 I previously used to touch up grey roots using revlon home dye before conceiving, it is ammonia free, but im not sure if its safe for pregnancy.. #pleasehelp #firsttimemom #pregnancy

Nuh or KKH gynae queries

Hi mums, just looking for feedback on these doctors. My consideration for gynae are: - someone who is patient when we ask questions. I'm FTM, bedside manners would really be important - someone who can give HL leaves when requested/necessary - respects birth plan (eg delayed cord clamping, skin to skin etc) - pro-natural (I am 35 this year and would fall under geriatric mum) - since I'm FTM, I also have alot of anxiety around labour and pregnancy. I'm looking for someone who has calming influence during labour. The gynaes I have in mind are: KKH - Dr Manisha Mathur KKH - Dr Lee Jia Min NUH - Prof Arijit Biswas NUH - Dr Vanaja Care is equally important to me. Been reading that NUH is much better than KKH in that, however there are also some who have said that KKH private is good. Confused at this point. 😵‍💫 Could mums who've had positive experience in KKH private share their experiences pls. I'm currently in subsidy route in KKH (7 weeks preggy) and honestly cannot decide whether KKH private would be better or NUH private. The difference in distance of both hospitals from my home is negligible ( less than 10 mins) Appreciate any advise. Thanks in advance. 🙏🙏

I really feel you on this, being a FTM with all these decisions at once is genuinely overwhelming, and it makes complete sense that bedside manner and a calming presence matter so much to you, especially going into labour with some anxiety. From what I've heard around, Dr Lee Jia Min at KKH has a really warm and gentle reputation, a friend of mine delivered under her and said she was patient, kind, and made her feel very at ease throughout, which sounds like exactly what you're looking for. Dr Manisha Mathur also comes up quite often when mums talk about wanting a thorough, attentive doctor, though she can be harder to get an appointment with, which suggests she's well-regarded. On the KKH private vs NUH question, some mums feel the private experience at KKH is quite different from subsidised, more continuity with your own doctor during labour, which for a FTM who wants that calming presence in the room could genuinely make a difference. Given your priorities around natural birth, delayed cord clamping, and skin-to-skin, I'd suggest shortlisting one from each hospital, then calling both clinics to ask directly how the doctor handles birth plans, that first interaction with the clinic staff can already tell you quite a bit about the practice culture.
