What are your Postpartum Rules?

With 3 months before full-term, we came up with rules we'll send to family and friends before childbirth ~ Expecting the worst, we imagine our parents ignoring this, so we plan on onboarding our siblings so they can help enforce and explain these to others. Ay, ang galing ng prep mo, honestly, kailangan talaga ng boundaries kasi walang filter ang mga relatives pagdating sa postpartum period! For us, the big ones were: no kissing the baby on the face (dahil sa germs), limited visitors and set visiting hours lang (para matulog kami), at no unsolicited advice or "helpful" comments about our parenting, ayun talaga ang nakakaaksaya ng energy mo when you're already exhausted. One of my mum friends literally made a laminated list and hung it sa nursery, at ang iba naman namin ay subtle lang, kung sino ang "authorized" mag-assist sa feeding o diaper changes kasi ang dami kasing "experts" suddenly. Smart move din ang involving your siblings as enforcers, kailangan talaga ng buffer para ma-protect ang mental health mo at ang recovery mo, especially kapag emotional ka na at hormonal pa, wala ka na pang patience para mag-explain ulit ng rules.
