Type 2 diabetic mums buying newborn insurance

Hello mummies! Any one can advise me on which company of newborn insurance should I purchase as I’m approaching 13w! What happens if I already have pre-existing type 2 DM before buying insurance? Will they not cover me/baby fully? Possible to share with me the costs as well? Thanks a lot!! #babyinsurance

Hi! Congrats on reaching 13 weeks! So from what I've gathered chatting with other mums, most insurers here do cover babies born to mothers with pre-existing type 2 diabetes, the good news is your baby's policy itself isn't usually affected by your condition, since baby starts from a clean slate health-wise. However, your own maternity and pregnancy-related claims can get tricky; some plans exclude or limit coverage for complications linked to your diabetes, so you really need to read the fine print carefully and declare everything upfront. Cost-wise, newborn policies typically run anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars depending on the coverage level and insurer, but honestly the variation is quite wide. A friend went through Prudential and said they were pretty transparent about what would and wouldn't be covered given her pre-existing conditions, worth asking each company directly for a detailed breakdown rather than guessing. The key thing is to compare what each plan says about maternity exclusions and how they handle pre-existing conditions, because that's where the real differences show up. Definitely worth having a chat with your doctor or a financial advisor who knows the local policies too, just to make sure you're picking something that actually works for your situation!

Cervical polyp and bleeding

Hello fellow mummies! Can anyone with polyp and bleeding advise what should I do? I’m currently 9 weeks preggy, and I have a mid size cervical polyp which is making me bleed on and off for 1 week and I see bits of blood clots occasionally. It scares me as i tend to bleed more recently. My gynae gave me a 2 weeks supply of Duphaston tablets + 1 progesterone jab, but it doesn’t seem to help with my bleeding at all. Halpssss :( Each toilet visit, each sneeze, each wipe after peeing makes me scared and worried at the same time #cervicalpolyp #bleeding

I literally had it removed when I rushed down. He didn’t gave me an option because mine made the vagina area too itchy. The itch was more unbearable. Removing it hurts temporarily and I’ll prefer that .

Feeling “not pregnant” enough.

Hello fellow mummies! I’m in my 6th week of pregnancy, and until now I still find myself “not pregnant” enough >>> I do not have any morning sickness, i don’t have food aversions, and I still have quite a good appetite. The only symptoms I have as of now is just breast tenderness, mild bloating and mild fatigue. Is this normal? I’m still awaiting for my doctor’s appointment & scan within this week. #firstimepregnant

Every pregnancy is so different, honestly. I know it's nerve-wracking when you're not getting all the textbook symptoms, but no morning sickness and a good appetite is actually quite common and totally normal, especially at 6 weeks. Breast tenderness, bloating and fatigue are solid pregnancy signs already, so your body is definitely doing its thing. The good news is your doctor's appointment and scan this week will put your mind at ease, so just hang in there until then.
