How many hours per day does your 1 year sleep?

Hi , can I check is if it is ok for 1 year old to sleep for 15 hours per day?

Yes it’s fine. Recommended 14 hours of sleep a day

Travelling With 1 Year Old

Hi Mummies First time travelling out of SG with LO and its a 7hrs flight. We will fly out during day time where she's the most active. I was wandering if I should get some special meds from PD (eg. Those travelling meds for kids for some calming effect or smthk) I'm scared that she may not be able to take in the pressure and may cry and be cranky during that 7hrs. Pls advise.

Is public shaming good parenting?

I think it's ok to discipline them in public, but only using the correct methods. I wouldn't suggest yelling at them in public (or even when you're not). Kids emotions are very gentle and you will scar them for life. And this will affect their social behaviour in the future.

Kid kept falling sick

Hi mommies, recently my 2.8 lo kept falling sick (fever, runny nose, block nose). Latest episode was since end of Oct until now so about 1.5 months already. 3 times high fever (between 38.5-39 degree) and after fever followed by runny nose and block nose. Until now she still has a little bit heavy breathing when sleeping (like snoring sound). She still not attending any school yet. We are a bit worried that her immune is not strong enough and once she goes to school next year she will be very easily falling sick. What should we do to build her immunity? Currently we are giving her probitoics and fish oil.

Take immunped. It’s to tackle flu and cough.

How do you stop your 2 yo from crying on every single item he wants. Be it books, toys, food and etc

He needs to learn other ways of expressing himself. If he’s already started talking, teach him simple ways of asking politely. You can reward with stickers or something when he does so. These toddlers also need pep talks before everything.. for eg. before going to a toy store, explain that you’re not buying anything, but he can choose (they love it when they think they have some choice/control) 3 toys to play with while they’re at the store. Even at home, before allowing him to go play, brief him that he has ___ minutes to play, what he can play with (again, give him choices so he feels he has some control in this) and that at the end of play time, how he can pack up all the toys. For food, talk about the next meal way in advance. Discuss what food will be there, what time he will eat, how he will eat it, etc. At 2yo, they’re often overwhelmed with emotions. Although we think they react to the smallest things, these are actually big things to them. So when they don’t know how to express themselves, they fall back on the instinct to cry, since that has worked for them since birth. It’s quite easy for us adults to react in anger and frustration, but I’ve come to experience that teaching my child different coping mechanisms and forms of self expression helps them more. At 3yo, the meltdowns get worse... haha. But my LO has learnt that she doesn’t get her way when she whines, and gets a better response from us parents when she asks us nicely. It’s a learning journey for both parent and child:) For less verbal children, you may consider buying emoji magnets/stickers and introducing different feelings to the child based on facial expressions. Then do some exercises with your LO to take the magnet that describes how he’s feeling. For my elder child, I also bought the book series on “When I’m feeling...” and that has helped put into words many different emotions, therefore helping her describe her feelings to us better. I’m sure there are many other ways too. Hope you’ll find a good way to communicate with your LO soon

Toddler loss of appetite

Hi. My Lo (13m) was eating fine last week, milk and puree before infant care and 2 porridge, followed by milk before bed after infant care. But this week his appetite isnt good. He refused to eat his morning puree and after school porridge. Hes playing and sleeping well. Is this normal?

Kids go though different phases so should be OK. Do briNg your child to a pediatrician if you're worried.

My baby is 3 months old and recently he seems to be uninterested in drinking milk (either bm or fm) during daytime. His usual feeding routine is 100ml 2-3 hrs interval. However, he has not been drinking well lately. Only able to drink 30-60ml per feed. Able to advise why is this so? I'm quite worried about his milk intake :(

How to get 1yo toddler to sleep longer

My 1 yo girl still doesn’t sleep through the night and wakes up every 2-3 hours.. it’s manageable in the day with my mil help but we have been particularly sleep deprived esp the weekdays whereby we have to trudge to work. Any thoughts on how to improve the situation? She usu sleeps 1.5 hr in morning, 1.5 hr in afternoon, then goes to bed around 9 pm with the 2-3 hr waking .. we tried lullabies, giving her 210 ml milk b4 bed (instead of usual 150), letting her sleep less in day but to no avail.

Is Baby Food Maker Necessary?

Hi, just wanna ask if anyone not use the food maker for babies? Does blender do the trick as well?
