2.5yo started hitting 7months old younger brother

My 2.5yo started hitting her 7months old younger brother whenever she is unhappy with him. Any other parents experienced this & any advice to discipline her? Tried to explain to her that we need to sayang instead of hit & brother will feel pain pain. Do i need to spend more quality time with her to make her feel loved? Did she reacted that way because i spend lesser time with her? I hope she will stop hitting her brother before he starts to learn & hit her back too 😪

yes she probably is seeking attention and love from you. it’s normal for them to feel this way. do try to spend more one on one time with her. she doesn’t know how to communicate her frustrations so she’s behaving this way, please don’t discipline her for it. take it as her telling you “mummy i need you to help me”

what type of bed should i get for my 2yo

my son use to sleep with me on my bed , recently he prefer sleeping on his own. so we put his cot mattress on floor and he sleep there on his own. is there any recommend bed / mattress / bump bed ?

My son went through the same phase around that age, and we actually kept the mattress on the floor for a good few months because it was the safest option while he was still getting used to sleeping alone. When he was a bit more steady, we got a simple low toddler bed frame from Courts so the height was not too scary if he rolled off lah. I would hold off on a bunk bed until he is at least four or five, just because the climbing up and down can be risky for a two year old.

Baby recovered from Covid

My 14 mths old baby just recovered from Covid a week ago and he doesn't seems to eat as much as before, has been having rice, vege, meat etc for his daily meal. Now only to eat a few bites, and mostly drink milk and water. Does it affect his appetite, is there a possibility of him lossing his taste bud due to Covid? Will he regain his taste bud? If yes how long it will take to regain it? For now what I can give him for nutrients? #pleasehelp

Aww poor baby, Covid really can affect appetite and taste quite significantly even for little ones lah! Yes it is very possible that Covid affected his taste perception because even adults also complain about losing taste after Covid, so for a 14 month old toddler it can be quite confusing and off-putting when food doesn't taste the same as before. Don't worry too much because taste usually comes back within a few weeks, in the meantime just focus on keeping him hydrated and offer foods with stronger natural flavours like fruits, and since he is still drinking milk that is actually good because milk still provides important nutrients, but if appetite doesn't improve after 2-3 weeks or you notice weight loss then bring him to see your PD just to get a proper check and advice!

Fever with other symptoms

Hi mummies, anyone child around 1yo-3yo kene before rotavirus or symptoms of rotavirus but at the same times u feel like is not rotavirus but UTI? Because Rotavirus don't have back abdominal pain at the side If UTI yes. I have history of UTI anyone feel that is it genetic that is will pass down to my child? Brought my child to kidklinik doctor say is stomach flu but his symptoms is more then that. Told doc what symptoms he have she ignore me. 😒 tml going back there again and tell her same things and See what she say. Before tml anyone have any advice / help/ solution ? He is finally starting to eat tiny bit without vomit. Ate his favorite potato chips without vomit.

Perhaps seek another doctor option like NUH UCC or KKH to advice. You should look up on the symptoms of rotavirus. Most of the time fever and diarrhoea.

Little small red dot on the Center of the molar.

Hi, mommies. Do any one know why my toddler have a small tiny red dot on the center of his molar teeth? Thank you.

I noticed something similar on my toddler's tooth before, mummy 😊 It turned out to be nothing serious, but I still got it checked by a dentist for peace of mind. A tiny red dot can be caused by different things, so it's hard to tell just by looking. If it doesn't go away, gets bigger, or seems painful when eating, I'd bring your little one for a dental check ❤️

My LO doesnt want to speak or communicate with us

Quite worried abt my LO as he is approaching 4y/o, he dont like to talk or reply us when we ask him question. Unless he wan smth then he will tell us. Otherwise when we call him, he dont answer us... is there anyway can make him speak up?

Have you spoken to a professional regarding this? Early intervention is always good

How to remove milk/food stains on toddler uniform?

My toddler has food stains from her uniform and since it is white top, the stain doesnt go away easily.

I use ABD Pureen and apply, scrub then wash. Dont soak to avoid colour transfer.

Potty training with new sibling coming soon

My second baby will be born just before my firstborn turns 2yo. I still have 3 months before my EDD in end feb 2024. Thinking of taking the time to do potty training now, but also I’ve heard how toddlers may regress in the potty training in view of a new transition / sibling introduction. What is your experience If you have similar encounters? Is it then better to wait until firstborn is more settled with sibling first then train? #advicepls

2 year old still wakes up in the middle of the night daily

Hi everyone. I have a son who is turning 2 this December. I know by now normally toddlers are able to sleep through the night. Unfortunately for me,my baby have not mastered it even though he is turning 2 years old soon. He is still waking up at once or twice every night to ask for milk, and at times will show tantrums n cry before settling for the milk. He is eating well and is well fed but it's still not enough to last him through the night. I have been yearning for the day to come where he can sleep throughout. Any mommies faced a similar situation before? When will it get better? 🥹
