My child copied his autistic classmate's stimming actions

My child is 3 years old and does not have any development issues. Lately he has been showing stimming actions like shaking of hands, tapping of fingers. I asked him why he does that and he said because his classmate (who is autistic) does that when he is happy. I told him firmly to stop doing that but he usually would laugh it off saying because he wanna be same as his friend. Should I just let him be? #advicepls

Unclear speech for 5yo

Hi.. is anyone here having a same problem like me, I have been struggling with my boy have unclear speech and everytime he speak felt like not confident with low sound to speak coz he know he has not many new words to say. Im worried if this can cause self esteem in social skill. Actually He's not late speech type, he always speak n talkative. But he just have limit words. I think he has habit to repeating the same words in many speech. And actually my English is not so good. So sometime I feel so struggle to teach him Please help me some suggestions. Sparkletots mattress

Hi Mummies ! Is there any mummies here that enrol ur toddler in sparkletots school? May i know where do u purchase the mattress cover from? Do u mind sharing? Sparkletots is using this kind of cot in the picture below. Thank you so much mummies ❤️

I really feel you on this, it can be so stressful trying to find the right fit when the school uses a specific type of cot. I don't have a child in Sparkletots myself, but maybe try asking the school admin directly since they sometimes recommend where other parents have bought from. You can also check if Mothercare or even Shopee has covers that fit standard cot sizes, as those tend to have a wide range lah.

Kindergarten tuition fees

Hi parents! Anyone familiar with how much Shaw's kindergarten fees are? Thanks!

I really feel you on this, school fees can be so stressful to figure out lah, especially when the info isn't always easy to find upfront. I don't have the exact figures for Shaw's kindergarten on hand, so I wouldn't want to give you the wrong number. I'd suggest calling them directly or dropping by, as the admin staff are usually quite helpful and can also walk you through any subsidies that might apply.

Hi mum, choosing infant care as a first-time mum really feels like a huge decision. I don’t have personal experience with that E-Bridge centre, but I’ve heard from a parent that the teachers were attentive and communication was good, and I’d still recommend booking a visit to get a feel of the environment and ask about their infant-to-caregiver ratio yourself lah.

17 months and can’t walk independently

Hi, my infant is still unable to walk independently at 17 months, he will always need to hold on to our finger before he is willing to stand up and try walking. How can I get him to try walking on his own?

practise standing by strengthening his core and holding his waist to walk. use push walkers instead of ufo walkers.

Teacher's Day gift

Do y'all give gifts to teachers on this day? My son is attending playgroup and idk if I should gift the teachers something 😅 problem is idk how many teachers are there in my son's class. Would a hamper suffice so the teachers can share among them? Wanted to get personalised gifts but I only know 5 regular teachers on the daily basis 😅 would be unfair for those trainee / assistant teacher that I don't see often. What kind of hamper would be great? Any suggestions?

Milk for 6yo

My boy is turning 6 this year and he is currently still on fernleaf full cream milk. Is it ok to let him drink those family milk kind now or any other milk to recommend? He prefers drinking his milk warm.

I would move to cows milk like meiji etc. that’s what my daughter 7 this year drinks

Special needs child support

Cc Teacher claimed that she FORGOT to inform me that my child injured his toe. Due to my child running away from the teacher during diaper changing. My child's toe got stuck at the door. I received my child and he was already limping. Even during receiving time, teacher didn't say anything. My child is special needs child and non verbal. 😓😓

quite common many times we as a parent find out ourself there was a time when I check with the teacher and her reply really make me mad 😠 she said it's quite common for a child to fall or injure I'm just asking her if she notice my boy fell but her reply 🥱🥱

I really feel you on this, finding the right preschool for your little one is such a big decision and it is so stressful when you cannot find enough reviews to go on. I have a friend whose daughter attended a PCF Sparkletots nearby and she said the teachers were nurturing and consistent, which made her girl settle in really well. It might be worth popping by the centre directly to do a visit and get a feel for the environment and the teachers lah, since that face-to-face impression can tell you so much more than any review. Hope you find a great fit for your child soon!
