Sugar control during pregnancy

Hi! I'm pregnant w my 3rd child. However after the 2nd one, diabetes seems to follow me till now. I had gdm during my 2nd pregnancy, and had to induce on 38 weeks due to baby being on larger side. However, I wish not to induce and yet try normal labour. Any advices on how to keep my sugar level on track? I'm taking Metformin for now.

Calcium for pregnancy

Any calcium gummies to recommend? Or maybe capsules form? Couldnt really take tablets. My gynae didnt prescribe any. He is too chill🤣🤣

Post vaccination

Hi, took my flu vaccine, recommended by KKH Dr on 15th march. Was told that in recent months, mummies gets flu too often, hence why. So it's been 2 days. On 16th I've started feeling more tired and down w sore throat. Today, I woke up w mild fever, flu and sore throat. Asking if this is normal as I've taken vaccinations before and never felt this way. Also, is there any recommended medication that I can buy from guardian or Watson? And usually, how long will these symptoms lasts?

Getting mild flu symptoms are side effect of flu jab. Better to ask gynae what medication you can take.

Short cervix at 24 weeks

FTM here Just went to my monthly gynae checkup and I inform gynae that I did feel a slight period cramp like for 3 sec on off for 1 hour last night but today I don’t feel any cramp anymore. Doc suggested I go for trans vaginal scan and report shown that my cervix length is at 2cm, and doc gave me 2 choice, to take vaginal medication or perform cervical cerclage. Decided on the medication due to could be risk on cerclage. Had to go back next week for another scan again. does any mummy experience this? I’m so worried that doc mention I may have the chances of pre term labour as I am only 24 weeks in 😭 Does this mean I can’t even move about? Or even travel? #firsttimemom #advicepls #firstbaby

my first born is born at 33weeks 2days... better not to travel.. but u can still move about...

I’m not yet divorce but will be in October. My baby is due in July and I’m not intending to put my husband name is bc. Can I still get baby bonus cash gift?

For what I am aware of, it will not be eligible as one of the QnA will be legally married and BC will be sent from ICA to MSF in order for the grant and cash gift to be credited.

Hi folks, wondering if it is worth to buy stuff from the pre-order sale or buy direct at the fair itself. Looking around to big ticket items like stroller, cot etc. Also doing lots of comparing online/ in-store. Advice will be appreciated! Cheers :) #firsttimemom

Mine was 2021. I personally feel that Shopee/lazada sales are much cheaper compared to MM. 😊

Early labor with only lower back pain

Hi Mummies, I am having a pattern of on and off sharp pain in my lower back since yesterday night. Went for check up today and doc says I am in early labor but when CTG was done no contractions were found since my pain is still in lower back. Doctor says it is a start of early labor and eventually the contractions will be in uterus. Doc told me to monitor contractions at home and no need to be admitted to hospital yet. It is been full day and I still have on and off lower back pain only. Has anyone else faced this in their early labor? How much time it shall take for the uterine contractions to start ? #firstbaby #advicepls

My pain was in the lower back as well. But it was pretty pain (but manageable) coz i was just pacing around my rm since the pain make me uncomfy to slp. Tis happened during the first midnight. Eventually i also fell aslp from the pain 😅. The following day midnight it started again. Hubby got worried i might pop on his car and decides to just send me to a&e to check 😨. Eventually i got admitted n only gave birth the next midnight 😅

Its my first time pregnant, Gonna ask a lot of question here as I'm not sure. Ok my mom told me i can only eat seafood after 3 month. But Im craving really bad for crabs now. But my cousin told me eat whatever i want as long its not pineapple ?‍♀️

If u really need crab, suggest to go more reputable places to ensure its clean and properly cooked.

Dandruff shampoo during pregnancy

Hi does anyone have anti dandruff and itchy scalp shampoo to recommend during pregnancy?

I really feel you on this, the itchy scalp during pregnancy is so uncomfortable and it's hard to know what's safe to use. I used a gentle, fragrance-free shampoo meant for sensitive scalps during my pregnancy and it helped quite a bit, but honestly for something like medicated anti-dandruff shampoo it might be good to just check with your gynae or PD first, since some active ingredients may not be recommended during pregnancy. They can point you to something safe for your stage, so you don't have to worry while you use it.
