First Antenatal visit to KKH

Hello mommies, what am I to expect on my first visit? Will there be a ultrasound scan? Heard that seeing the doctor and doing the scan it's on different day. Is that to say every month got to apply 2 days leave. One to see doctor one to do scan??? 😔

I had a scan for every visit even for the first time. And it’s just once a month for me! (Every 4 weeks) until nearer to EDD then will shorten.

Brown discharge and blood clot at week 6. Is it worrying?

Just went for HCG count check this week and all was normal except for spotting and brown discharge. Was asked to take 4 duphaston tablets daily. Saw a small dark coloured clot flushed out today with same brown discharge again. Was initially reduced to light spotting but the dark brown bleeding seems slightly more on pantyliner now. Is it normal? Will try to see a gynae later

Sometimes it’s just clearing of old blood / infection, don’t scare yourself first. As long as it’s not turning bright red you should be fine :)

How much weight did you put on during pregnancy?

How much weight did you put on during your pregnancy? My original bmi pre-pregnancy was 19. Put on 7kg at 20w and it seemed like too much based on online pregnancy charts. Slightly conscious on how to lose the weight post pregnancy… #1stimemom #pregnancy #firstbaby

OGTT - Gestational Diabetes

I’m taking OGTT tomorrow and I’m scared I will fail the test. What will happen if I fail? Do I have to monitor my blood sugar daily? #firsttimemom

Hello, I’m a FTM with no risk factors at all, but I failed the test spectacularly 😅 Will need to monitor blood sugar 7 times a day, for 2-3 days a week. Honestly, the pricking doesn’t hurt. The anticipation of it hurting is scarier🤣 For myself, I monitored very religiously everyday after the test for 2 weeks. Taking note what works for me, and what doesn’t. After my 2 week review where the doctor went through my meals and readings and gave advice, i only do it when I eat new things so I know if these new foods work for me or not. Don’t worry too much ! It’s a good chance for you to review your eating habits and eat healthier, for your own sake and your baby’s sake.

Who has Bad bowel that give soft stool

I'm starting to get diarrhoea for 2weeks. Took antibiotic and recover slightly. Doctor say is stomach flu. After that still soft stool but at least got shape. Took probiotic given by GP only. 5 days later I start to feel uncomfortable bloat stomach and bit gastric pain and keep burping. Then when fart stool also come out. I'm very worry. Not sure what's wrong. Stools are extremely smelly too.

Spotting or miscarriage?

Hi, I’m about 5/6weeks and I found out that I’m bleeding. Bleed with cramps. Red blood. Changed pad once. Similar to period. I have experienced miscarriage before (about 4 months back) and previously I saw clots. This time round, no clots just bleeding and cramps.. like period. I’m going to visit the doctor tmr but the constant worry is there. Any words to calm me down? Anyone faced similar issue? Do share!

Anxious, just me?

Had my positive signs about 2 weeks ago (2 tests), pescribe folic acid and waiting for official doctor appt for first scan. I’m about 6 weeks now. Feel so anxious because ive yet to physically see the scan or have a doctor verified that I have a baby in me. Oh mommies, do you feel this way? ☹️

Yes I felt that way too.. mine was throughout pregnancy. Will worry between scans too before feeling movements in the belly. It’s normal but really have to just try not to worry about it!
