How is morning sickness like? Sometimes after I brush my teeth or a few minutes after I brush my teeth, I feel like vomiting but nothing comes out. It reminds me of the gag reflex on toothpaste. Is morning sickness suppose to be like this?

Morning sickness differs for different people. Some mommies literally spew out whatever they have in their systems and feel better after that. Some do not vomit as much but they constantly have that icky feeling in their throat and the urge to throw up. One remedy that works really well is to drink iced water infused with some drops of lemon juice and mint leaves. Keeps the nausea at bay and refreshes the throat.

Moms, if you could name one thing you hate (or has challenged you so much) at each of the trimesters of your pregnancy, what would they be and why?

1st trimester - frequent urinating 2nd trimester - I hate the smell of GARLIC and onions ! hahaha 3rd trimester - my husband I hate him a LOT ! hahahaha

Anyone take up post natal massage, usually how many days do you take. 5,7,10 days. & how Long after you delivered.

I went through normal v delivery and started post natal massage 4 days after i have delivered. I took 2 sets of 5 days. Was advised that the minimum would be 5 days.

What are the best books on pregnancy?

Another good one that's popular in the US (my sister gifted it to me): What to Expect When You're Expecting --- although some people say it's daunting, I found it quite useful in terms of the baby's week-on-week development as well as taking care of the mother's health. Dr. Sears' books are also quite popular in the pregnancy-baby-toddler zone.

What's the chance a HBeAg positive mother passes HBV to her child?

If you test positive for HBeAg when you are pregnant, it can increase the risk of infection in your baby at the time of birth. The best way to prevent infection in your baby once you have tested positive is to administer the hepatitis B and the hepatitis B immune globulin vaccination within 12 hours of your delivery. The best way to ensure the risk of infection goes down is to screen for the same during each pregnancy. Also, your baby's doctor will have to provide for the fact that your baby's immunity will be extremely low at the time of birth and soon after, and hence keep the baby under constant observation.
