Hi mummies. I need some advice/recommendation. Currently I'm pregnant 6 weeks with my secondborn and planning for vbac. Any recommendation for doctor who do vbac and where is their clinic (for private) or govt hosp? Also, for those who took Dr Citra before, may I know of the cost of monthly checkup and total bill upon giving birth? Thank you in advance.

Dr Paul Tseng from tmc is very well know. For being pro Vbac. He is a very pro natural gynae. He lets you take control of what you want. As for charges, I find him very reasonable and you can choose whether you want to do ultrasound scan or not on every visit. You have the choice unlike most gynae that don't give you option. and dr citra is another also very pro vbac

Tough 1st trimester

Hi everyone, I am having a tough 1st trimester. Feeling tired, naseau and uncomfortable stomach all the while. To the extent that I will sometimes just breakdown and cry. It is hard to concentrate at work. Any tips to make all these discomfort go away?

Happens to my Wife too. It’s normal. Just maintain a healthy diet! And congratulations!

Forcing yourself to poop can harm the baby?

Hi, I am 9 weeks pregnant and feel too much constipation( two days- one time). Sorry for this kind of words. When I go for washroom, I am naturally forcing myself to poop. Is it safe for baby? I am really afraid that kind of act hurt my baby inside. Please let me know.

I don’t know but I think u can try taking some probiotics (not harmful to baby products) and eat more fruits & veggies more easily for you to poop. During pregnancy, constipation is often an issue for many mums. Drink plenty of water too to keep body hydrate.

No Breastfeeding

Any mama to-be decided not to breastfeed even before giving birth?

I did breastfeed for about 10 months, but I exclusively pumped since Day 1 because my son didn't want to latch. However, there are many mums who do not breastfeed - some for medical/financial reasons, while others simply choose not to because of whatever personal reasons they had! I guess the first thing you could think about is why you don't want to breastfeed - yes, it can be inconvenient and tough to manage especially if you're a working mum - but there are ways around it to help you manage :) If it's about the cost, you could always get secondhand/gently used equipment and reusable storage cups so you don't spend a lot on storage bags! In fact, breastfeeding is cheaper than getting formula in the long run. If it's about medical reasons, then check with your gynae/doctor about it - some medication do not require you to pump and dump, and some health conditions would still allow you to breastfeed while accepting treatment/medication :) Whatever your reason is, you still have time to think about it - and whether you want to or not, your milk supply will come in about 3-5 days after giving birth, and it'll take a while to go away if you choose not to breastfeed - either way, you'd still have to take good care to avoid mastitis and blocked ducts which can cause more problems! If you do decide to not breastfeed at all, you may want to get medication from the doctor to stop your milk supply - even if you're not feeding, milk can still be triggered when a child cries (even if it's not your child) or when you get overly emotional over maternal instincts :x If there's something bothering you about breastfeeding, you can always leave a message or comment here and the community can help!
