Infant care dilemma

Hi all, anyone has any thoughts on private vs government infant care? My hubby and I are both working, in laws and parents are also not able to help look after... not much options left. Was suggested to hire helper instead of sending to infant care, but heard a lot of horror stories hence not so keen to hire. What are your thoughts? Appreciate any response :) thank you.

There’s always horror stories to everything 😮‍💨 List down the pros and cons of both, maybe it will help you to decide. Eg, Can install cctv at home or enroll to ifc with cctv.

Baby does not like to sleep in cot

My 4 month old baby does not like to be placed in cot, perhaps due to Moro Reflex. Any advise?

Most of the time i would swaddle my baby, to avoid the moro reflex, or put the bean sprout bag

When will baby stop being startled when sleeping

At which month did your baby stop being startled when sleeping ? Especially without swaddle. We are training baby to sleep without swaddle as he started infant care, but despite putting bean sprout bag on his tummy/chest, he still get startled every now and then and that sometimes made him wake up or affect quality of sleep/nap. #firsttimemom

10 months old having difficulty sleeping at night

Hello mummies , my LO this few days having difficulty sleeping at night. She will rub her eyes , dig her ears , scratch her head (her sleep signal) and i will pat her to sleep but she keeps turning here and there , crawl here and there. If i do not let her turn or crawl she will cry 😭i hardly bring her out due to her gotten covid when she's 2 months old. I'm tired and exhausted until i feel like throwing her out of the house 😭 any mummies can share what can i do?

My 8 months old is also like that, sometimes. My husband would carry her to sleep. Or we use the yaolan (baby hammock/buaian)

Play gym

My baby is now 3 months+ and she can play on the play gym for over an hour ? but is it ok? In past she could just play 10mins.

Doctor just called saying im diabetic. How worry should i be? And is it normal? And im also lowblood

Diabetes and low blood

Having both high blood sugar and low blood pressure together is something your doctor really needs to explain to you properly, because managing them at the same time can be tricky and what works for one can sometimes affect the other. I won't sugarcoat it, gestational diabetes does need to be taken seriously and monitored closely, but many mums here have gone through it and delivered healthy babies by following their doctor's advice on diet and monitoring. Please go back to your doctor or ask for a referral to a specialist so they can map out a clear plan for you, because this is not something to just wait and see on. You are not alone in this, but do get the proper guidance rather than relying on us here for medical advice lah.

Baby sleeps through the night - srill need to change diaper?

When your baby has started sleeping through three night, do you still change their diapers in the middle of the night ? If they dont poop

How to start solids & water with baby

Hi mummies, when you start giving water and solids to your baby once they hit 6 months or so, how do you introduce it and how much to give? How much water to give at one time or in a day? Do i still give in his milk bottle? And how much of solid (eg porridge) to give at one meal? And how many times a day/at what time and how to interval with his milk feeding? for porridge can use any rice grain? Same as what we eat as adult? What kind of food can i start introduce aside from porridge. Thanks alot mummies! - First time mum

I give a few sips after solids. No, give it in a cup or straw cup. I started with few teaspoons then table spoons. I will feed milk first then 30-45 mins later offer solids. Milk intake still the same. For rice, my family eats japonica so I used that. Alternatively, can just use normal rice grain. Fruits, noodles (eg kway teow, meesua, spaghetti), macaroni, veggies, fish and meats.
