Traveling with 7 month infant

FTM here. Travelling with 7 month infant (started weaning and on formula) to Melbourne Australia via Scoot for a week, without getting additional seat or bassinet. (1) Any advise on what to pack or (2) things to take note on flight or (3)suitable attractions/ must do/ restaurants will be much appreciated. Thanks friends :)

• planes allow thermal flask to prepare milk for infants • cabin sized strollers kept in travel bags are convenient to have. alternatively check in the stroller but slightly higher chance of getting damaged. • I use travel bags to segregate kids stuff. i find it convenient. • my baby is ok with different diaper brand so I bought mine from Australia instead of bringing • I also brought my own bottle brush and bottle soap to clean the utensil. some people also bring a portable bottle dryer or check beforehand if hotel provides this. hygienic or not, I'm not sure. • I brought own baby blanket, pillow etc. • bring snacks that your baby already likes. bring a portable small container to wash fruits to eat in hotel. they have great quality fruits.

5 mth suddenly refuse to sleep + diarrhoea + extra fussy

Need some advice... My 5 month old is having problems sleeping at night. He used to sleep 6-8 hour stretches, ever since he was 2 months old. This started about a week ago. He'd wake up at 2am for milk as usual, then refuse to go back to sleep. Or will cry bloody murder if he falls asleep when i rock and then try to put him down. This can go on all the way until at least 9am. He is also refusing my husband. The rocking must be done by me, otherwise scream nonstop. I'm so tired and my back is breaking omg I'm losing my sanity. At the same time, he's suddenly having green diarrhoea. At least 4 times a day. Idk what is causing it. Tried giving probiotics daily for a week already. Seems to have improved (lesser/drier), but poop is still green. Not sure if this tummy upset is the thing that's keeping him up at night. He doesn't seem to be in discomfort though. Just want to be carried. Anyone had similar experiences? Maybe teething, stomache, regression etc. Please share and tell me this is normal and will pass soon. 🥲 Idk how many more sleepless nights I can tahan.

it might be worth changing milk brand. After drinking, keep his head higher than the body for at least 15min, to let the milk flow down into his tummy better. remember to burp him sufficiently after each feed. if it's okay for u/hubby, try to kangaroo hug him for a long period (don't need to keep shaking), to help the milk flow down to tummy and stay there. I did this for my first kid and he rarely face digestive issues/fuss.

No intention to breastfeed from birth will still get engorgement ?

Hi mummies that formula fed their baby right from birth and no intention to breastfeed or pump, did you still have engorgement? Do i need to straightaway ask gynae for medication to stop milk production or it wont engorge or produce milk if i dont stimulate nipple ?

Help! Night feeds

My baby is 5 weeks now and unable to finish her bottle for night feeds. About 20-30ml left every night and morning feeds. Is it normal? And if so can i prepare less milk for night feeds as i see all the precious breastmilk getting wasted every night #advicepls

how much do u feed per session? if you feed about 60ml but bb only drinks 30ml, then why not make 60ml but feed 30ml, then 10ml at a time. if bb only drinks 30ml then you only waste 10ml. Rest of the bm put back in fridge - can be used for next feed.

Sterilise/wash baby bottle when travelling

When you are travelling with a bottle fed baby, how do you sterilise the bottles after use if theres no access to steriliser and dont wish to use the sterilisation tablet due to the smell and maybe baby taste. Can i just use using baby bottle soap and use hot water ? Do i need to soak the bottle in the hot water for few minutes or just roughly wash the bottle with hot water will do? And for soaking bottle with hot water what do you use to soak it with ? Since theres no bowl or anything

Baby cried all the way in flight

Any tips to prevent or help baby (4months) from crying when in flight? I went to malaysia, which is a 1 1/2 flight, baby slept during take off and sucking pacifier but once the plane is up, baby woke up and started crying non stop and looks very uncomfortable. He cry until mucus from nose all come out. Tried carrying him, suck pacifier, play with toy, talk to him etc but nothing works. I believe his ears are painful from the air pressure. I panicked so bad cause the plane is full house and people confirm is cursing me very badly for letting my baby cry and its very noisy. Last choice was almost landing, gave baby milk (not his feeding time) and he stopped crying. However milk feed will only last 10 mins at most so idk what else to do to soothe baby😣 And because we gave him milk not during his feeding time, and the interval is like an hour he spent the next few hours keep puking out milk. Like a lot. We still have a plane back in 2 days time and im so scared to fly back😭 cause confirm he will cry again and non stop. Im more scared of people’s judgement and causing inconvenience to them. And i cant always be feeding baby milk during flight. Any other tips mummies ? I dont breastfeed or latch.

i bought silicon ear plug for the baby. there is some kind of headset for it, too. Maybe it can help. If you cannot feed milk when take up or landing ( when they mentioned they are going lower ), maybe try to let your baby sucking on the pacifier it help too. You dont need to feed the baby during the flight unless they are hungry.

Hello Mummies who do BLW, I’m preparing for my baby’s journey soon! What are some essentials items like feeding tools and food preparation tools to get? Or any that you would recommend? Outfit for baby in flight

What kind of outfit do you wear for your baby when taking flight ? Just normal long sleeve onesie without pants or sleep suit ? Its a short flight 1 1/2 hrs. To malaysia Baby is 4 months old

If just short distance a short sleeve rompers with socks or as onesie or sleepsuit will be too warm after alighting from flight.

Birth control patch

Hi hi anyone used birth control patch before ? How effective is it and whts the side effect? Which brand did you get from?

I have not personally tried the patch but a friend of mine used it for about a year and said it worked well for her, no missed doses to worry about since you just change it weekly. She did mention some mild skin irritation at the patch site and slight bloating in the first month, but it settled down after that. Best to check with your gynae or polyclinic doctor to find out which brand they carry and whether it suits your body, since everyone reacts differently.

Hello! Anyone has reviews on Einmilk diapers and wet wipes? Looking for more affordable options, appreciate the reviews! :) Thank you!

I can’t advise on diapers but I’m using Einmilk wipes. Not as wet but decent, wipes usually comes out in 2-3 pieces at once which is quite annoying but for the price, can’t complain much 😅.
