Baby’s body very warm but no fever

Hi mummies, if your baby’s body, esp back and neck is on the warmer side or heaty, but temp shows not fever, do you still use kool fever and sponge them ? My baby is recovering from fever, his body is on off heaty esp the neck, however temp shows not fever, like 37.1 or so. So im not sure if its still fever or not How long does fever usually subside for babies below 6m

At 37.1°C it's technically not a fever yet, so Kool Fever patches and sponging are not really necessary at that point, though I understand the worry when the neck and back still feel warm to the touch. Since your baby is below 6 months and just recovering, I'd say it's worth calling or visiting the PD just to get a proper check, because very young babies can change quite quickly and the doctor can also advise you on what temperature range to watch out for going forward.

2 finger sucking

Hi My Lo is 11 month old, she is sucking her 2 fingers most of the time. Since 8 month she started sucking when she wants to sleep. But now she is sucking most of the time. Please suggest some techniques that will help me to stop that. Your baby it could be soothing itself. It probably teething. My second baby have this problem too sucking finger. But my first didn’t. But I bought teether for them to hope they can soothe themselves. My first use teether a lot and it work well for her. Hopefully yours work too. 😊

Baby girl Circumcision

Any recommendation of which clinic to send my baby girl for circumcision in West area of SG?

I highly recommend neptune clinic at clementi. Dr was very assuring and gave a pre talk before the actual process. In the end, baby didnt cry at all as she was very gentle.

Anyone delivered with Dr Ryan Lee at Thomson Woodleigh

Hi mummies, I just seen Dr ryan lee for my first scan at woodleigh mall. Anyone delivered with dr ryan before ? am thinking of booking him for my pregnancy

Honestly I have not delivered with him personally, but picking a new OB is always a bit of a weighing game between familiarity, clinic location, and how comfortable you feel during that first consult. The fact that Woodleigh is convenient and you already had a good first scan experience is a real plus, though it might be worth checking with friends or asking the clinic about his on-call arrangements for labour, since that can make a big difference. I would give it a few more visits to see if his communication style suits you before fully committing lah, because that doctor-patient rapport really matters across nine months.

BLW BABY - anyone?

Are you guys doing BLW for your baby? And what age you start? I tried to give broccoli to my LO. She learning how to gag but scare die me!! So i stop lol. She is 6mo Any advise , welcome!!

I imagined doing blw but I end up spoon feeding instead. Baby only eats snacks on her own 🤣

4.5months in ifc keep falling sick

Is it normal when baby join IFC theyll get sick very easily. If its not cough, its flu. If its not flu its fever. My baby started ifc dec 2023, by now he’s already sick and has on off fever/flu/cough like 3-4 times. Is it normal, and how to increase immunity for 4.5months old if he’s on fm

change the belonging that u bring to ifc daily,i.e., pillow blanket it may help too cause you won't know if any baby accidentally touch your baby's pillow

Baby always flapping hands

Is it normal for 4.5 months old to be flapping hands most of the time? Sometimes like non stop sometimes to a point that he hit his head or tummy. Not sure if its excitement or what. Its not spasm or anything and he doesnt look uncomfortable. He can control his hand to grab something etc bt sometimes he flap his hands up down

At 4.5 months, some hand flapping can be a normal part of how babies explore their movements and express excitement, but since it's happening very frequently and he's hitting himself, it's worth bringing up with your PD just to get a proper assessment. The fact that he can still control his hands to grab things is a good sign, but your PD can look at the full picture and tell you whether it fits within normal development or if there's anything to watch.

Early sleep regression at 12 weeks?

My LO used to sleep in 4-5 hours stretch but last night woke up every 2 hours and napped less during the day.. is it early sleep regression like the 4th month regression? Or baby will have another one at 4th month too..

My girl went through something similar around that age, and from what I have read and heard from other mums, the 4-month regression can sometimes start a little early around 10 to 12 weeks rather than exactly at 16 weeks. It is hard to say for sure whether this is it or just a growth spurt, since both can cause the same kind of disrupted sleep pattern. Even if this is an early version of it, some babies do seem to have another rough patch closer to the actual 4-month mark, so it is worth being prepared that sleep may not fully settle in one go. The good news is that most mums here find it does pass after a week or two, so hang in there and rest when you can.
