In-laws blame me for my baby's disease...

My baby often falls ill. Whether it's fever, flu, cough, or sometimes vomiting... Before having a child, I learned a lot about baby health and how to handle unexpected situations like this. I was quite calm and prepared. But, my mother-in-law who lives with us always blames me. She says my breast milk is bad, of poor quality. She even wants to give my baby honey -- but of course I forbid it! And she blames me. She wants to give my baby coffee because she thinks it can prevent seizures due to fever. I once told my husband about this, but when he reprimanded her, my mother-in-law got angry and said I wasn't a good mother.

Help! Is this drool rash or eczema?

Does this look like eczema on my baby? :( It’s dry, but gets redder when in contact with drool and after eating. Seems to be spreading more over the 2 weeks despite keeping it dry and cleaning with warm water after milk.

if it's over 2 weeks I'll go to the doctor just for peace of mind. meanwhile can try diaper cream or vaseline

Confinement nanny necessary?

I have a helper and my mother will be living with me during confinement period. What's the main benefits for having a nanny? #adviceplease

If helper or mom able to care for baby idt nanny is needed.

Confinement Centre in jb

Anyone has tried doing their confinement in jb ? How was your experience? Is it worth the hassle? #newmom

I did! I went to LYC SOG. They are very mummy oriented and I think it’s a good place if the mummy wants to have a good rest well. I liked that only my husband and I were together with the baby for the first month (without interactions from the other relatives or interventions from the MIL). The nurses there are very experiences They have a few classes that helps FTM to learn how to take care of baby too. However, just take note that if one of the baby falls sick in the nursery, they might pass it to your baby too.

Milk intake at 12 weeks

My baby is 4.8kg at 12w. Previously was fully latching baby but due to period my supply have dropped half and baby went on nursing strike. Now i have change to bottle feeding and feeding baby 90ml each for 7 feeds. Baby is only 630ml per day however recommended amt is 720ml. Baby cant finish bottle when i try to increase to 100ml per feed. Is it normal? Am i underfeeding baby? #adviceplease

I’m facing the same problem as you. We kept forcing baby to drink and he is having a milk strike now. Please don’t force the baby to drink. Jiayous!

My husband vapes in the room.

Hi, my husband is really being inconsiderate or brainless at times, my room is aircon room and window and door is obviously shut all the way, baby is sleeping and he literally just vape in the room, but did not blow the smoke at baby, but i find it really inconsiderate and stupid. As vape has fragrant too, even tho it did not directly blew at baby but i am afraid it will affect baby. When i confronted him, he told me he just woke up and being forgetful. But cmon does he not have brain? He still can tell me " walao i also never blow directly at baby why u being so tense up " I am scared it will affect the baby even it is just this one time.

am i a bad mother for leaving baby home alone?

I left my baby alone at home for a few minutes to grab something from the store nearby. he was asleep tho... Now, I'm feeling incredibly guilty. 😔 Am I a bad mother for leaving my baby alone, even for just a short errand? I've never done this before, usually, i will take him wherever but he was so fussy and cried a lot that day meanwhile i need to get this thing done. And now I can't shake off this feeling of guilt. I dont know what to do... I might not be privileged enough to have someone accompanying my baby while i was away. so really dont know what to do.

hi mummy! im a special needs educator. yes, autism is strictly a hereditary condition. In many countries, autism can only be diagnosed at 3 years old because it takes time for certain skills such as eye contact to develop. how old is your baby now? you may want to speak to a paediatrician or a medical staff during your baby's next developmental check-up. it could be slower development, and letting a medical staff know may help direct you to resources that can provide support such as occupational therapy to work on these skills if it is not yet showing.

Difficulty in feeding

Hello mummies, my LO one is 11 weeks old and his daily milk intake has dropped significantly suddenly. He is 4.9kg, and is usually taking in about 800-900ml (80-120ml per feed) of expressed breast milk daily. However, it has been dropping since 3 days ago (about 670ml, 50-100ml per feed). Feeding him has been very tough as he kept refusing to drink it/fall asleep while drinking. He is still having at least 6 wet diapers but hasn’t poop since yesterday. Any tips?

No tips. If baby is active and peeing and pooping well, nothing to worry about. There will be times when baby drinks lesser milk. It’s a phase and it will pass.
