I just noticed that the metal part of my Philips sterilizer is rusty. anybody else has this issue? I've only used it for 3 months. is it harmful for baby?

It is stated in the manual on how to clean the metal plate. Any white vinegar will do the trick. Pour water and some vinegar, on the switch and use a brush to scrub when it is bubbling. All the stains will be removed.

Does anyone hire a confinement nannny before?

I didn't hire a confinement nanny, but I got a night nurse instead. She comes from 10pm-7am

Which month can I take babies mittens off ?

It depends on individual. I let my baby wore it till she was 5 mths whereas my friend only let hers wore till 1 mth old. Her reason was, the mittens might affect the growth of the baby's fingers whereas my worries were more of she scratching herself Coz their fingernails grew v fast by the day.

My 2 month old baby sleeping through the nite with a stretch of 7hrs. Is it ok to sleep wo/o interim feeds?

My 6month baby fall of bed (2feet height) hit head on wooden floor this morning. She did cry out loud and looks scared. But she seems ok after we console her. We checked every part.. no bumps or injury. But not sure she got brain injury not. Should we bring her visit doctor?

I agree with Jasmine. Observe your baby closely but its pretty common for babies to fall off the bed. Mine has fallen off at least 3 times! But we've never had to take him to the doctor yet!

Am I the only one who finds people who insist on sanitising their hands every time before handling a baby strange? I feel washing your hands is good enough. One cannot possibly sanitise the world and it could lower your baby's immunity.. Does it? I would do it if the parent prefers it , of course :) Any thoughts mummies?

Isn't it better to wash hands vs sanitize? Also I guess it would depend on how young the baby is and if he/she was a preemie or high risk baby.

Does your baby (infant) fall sick easily at infant care ? Heard because mixing with other baby, kid tends to fall sick easily ...

Dazzle is absolutely right. Regular hand-washing dramatically reduces the passing of respiratory and gastrointestinal illness, so make sure your kids are scrubbed up (or using a hand sanitizer) when they leave school and after every play date.

When is a good time to start solid for 4.5mths old baby? And what food should i start with? Feed once a day? How much to give?

6 months. start with veggie puree.

My LO is coming to 3 months old. started feeding fm - NAN PRO (mix feed- bm+fm) and she doesn't poops, only once every 3-4days. when she is on full bm, she does poops. LO currently drinks 120ml each feed and pee regularly. any remedies to make her poop?
