What should you do if you accidentally cut baby's fingertips?

Found this article with very clear instructions (given by Dr Tham Lai Peng, senior consultant at KK Hospital): Run the finger under running water, and press on the wound to stop the bleeding. Clean it with antiseptic solution and cover with a non-stick sterile dressing. This first-aid method applies to all cuts. While you might be eager to check on it, refrain from changing her dressing too frequently. Do so only every three to four days as removing it daily will pull off the healing tissue and prolong recovery. But see a doctor immediately if the bleeding is serious. My lo is 5.8kg Born on 9 april 16 4.5mth old PD and nurse said her weight gain is not enough. How to make sure her weight is increasing at good rate? Height is normal but weight is increasing at a slower rate. LO is bottle feed so i know how much is her intake. 6oz to 7oz per feed 2hrly feeding STTN. Is it due to my bm or LO nv absorb?

Hi Mummies!! My LO is going for her 3rd month jab tomorrow and I'm afraid she might get fever. How to prevent it? Do you all give fever med after injection eventhou ur LO does not have fever? TIA

My baby never had a fever after any jab. Think you should wait and see. The Doctors will also give you baby Panadol

Hi mummies. My girl had her hep b 2nd dose at the polyclinic and is scheduled for her 3rd month (5-in-1) jab soon. However, I'm thinking of switching her to my regular pd for the 6-in-1 jabs. Is it still possible as I understand the combination is slightly different for polyclinics and private clinics? Feel that I am more comfortable having a doctor who knows my girl's medical history to administer the jab instead of having different nurses administering the jabs each time we go to the polyclinic. Thanks!

I think it's 5-in-1 followed by another 5-in-1 and final with 6-in-1 in your case.

My 2 weeks old LO is starting to wake up every 1 hour.. Can't be feeding him every hour, any remedy to make him sleep longer? He seems to be awake and alert and I'm totally drained....

Newborn sleep is still immature and driven by the basic needs. Hence, with their smaller stomachs, it is common for them to wake up once few hours (or every hour for your case) to nurse. The duration will gradually lengthen as their sleep cycle matures. Hang in there mummy! You can perhaps try nursing in bed to try and get some rest yourself.

Hi mummies. I noticed a hard lump behind my LO's right nipple. Anyone has any idea what that is? Should i bring her to the PD to have it checked? She doesn't cry out in pain when i squeeze the lump to see if anything comes out from it but it still bothers me. LO is 6 months old. Thank you!

My girl is 5months plus, and lately she seems to be having a growth spur. she was able to sleep for 5-6hrs through the night previously but she wakes up every 2+hrs in hunger crying for milk. PD has given us green light to start solid as she is constantly going hungry, but it is impossible to give her solid in the night and she wouldn't drink more than 100ml each time. Anyone with similar experience can advice?

if it's more than 3-5 days, it's not growth spurt. it's sleep regression where her sleep cycle is now changing to be like us adults. if she doesn't know how to sleep independently, she will wake up after every 1-2 cycles (approx 1-3h).
