Recommend me electric pump and why?

I am a ebm mom and I pump 8 times a day at interval of 3hrs round the clock @ 80-100 ml each time, recently my supply have been up and down and twice I couldn't keep up with his demand and supplement with formula. My mother in law insist that my breast milk Is going to deplete and want me to switch to formula totally which I am against as baby is only 3 weeks old. How do I increase my supplies, I am currently taking fenugreek (twice a day at 2 capsules each time) and fish oil (once a day at 2 capsules each time). my mother in law also insist that each time baby cries it indicates that he is hungry and tend to force feed or waste my breast milk as it will be thrown away if he can't finish it.

This are hungry cues, not necessary that when baby cries means he is hungry. I'm feeding my 3 weeks old 2.5oz of ebm every 2.5-3 hours, if not enough then I will top up by abit to prevent wastage.

I'm keen to wean my 2.5yo off the breast because it's getting a bit too much for me. We co-sleep and he latches almost the entire night but mostly for comfort. His younger Brother drinks before sleeping then sleeps through the night so at least I don't have to struggle with two. Any tips to help with the older one?

Have you tried a pacifier for the older child? If it's just comfort latching, maybe the pacifier wouldn't be such a bad idea? Will save you some heartbreak over losing sleep...

My lo is turning one month old in a few days. He has been feeding very frequently, sometimes every hour or twice every hour. Is he experiencing a growth spurt? This has been ongoing for 2 weeks already. His output and weight gain are good. Just wondering when will this end as it is very tiring to wake up so frequently at night. thanks!

tis is normal just feed when there is needed.. very soon baby may sleep for 4 to 5 hr b4 wake up for milk

My nb baby hiccups very often. Is this normal?

Hiccups in newborns could be cause by the same few reasons as an adult, such as eating too much, swallowing air while chewing, being anxious or excited. An infant may swallow some air while nursing and that may give raise to hiccups. Hence, it is important to burp the baby after each feeding to get ride of any air in the stomach. In general, hiccups in newborns and babies are common. However, if your baby’s hiccups continue for hours, you should seek advice from your doctor. Some conditions like gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) or a tumor or cyst in the throat may present symptoms like long-term hiccups. Hiccups usually will go off on its own. You can try soothing your baby by rocking or providing a gentle back rub. Just take note if it is taking unusually long for the hiccup to go away and give your doctor a call if required.

my breastfed baby is 5 months old now and drinking about 120ml-150ml per feed, 8 times within 24hours. I'm gg overseas in October (11days) and I'm planning a stash for my absence. I will start her on solids next week. will her milk intake drop by October? she will be 8 months old by then.

The total amount of milk consumed in a day will likely decreased as you start introducing solids into her diet. However, I would think that it is still good to start building a stash now. I'm not feeling well and doc prescribe me medications that are breastfeeding friendly... should I pump n throw or could I feed my LO?

Since the medications prescribed by hour doc are breastfeeding friendly, there is no need to pump and dump.. Can feed.

Any mummy can advice how to warm the breast milk from fridge ?

You can soak the parts in warm warm with a few drops of dish soap and then rinse through thoroughly with hot water.

mummies, I think I going to have cough as I feeling itch in my throat... anyone have remedies so I can 'cure' it before it get worse... if I have cough, can I continue to breastfeed?

Any one on fernugreek? How to consume to boot milk production. my galfriend consumes 12 pills a day. How long will we see results from this supplement?
