My baby has acid reflux and has not been feeding well- he either cries at the breast or falls asleep. He is mostly feeding for less than 5min and feeding infrequently. As such, he end up drinking only the foremilk and I noticed his poo is now green. FTM, so maybe my question may sound silly, but can I express out the foremilk until the milk is noticeable less watery/more 'white' before letting him latch to increase the chances of him drinking the hindmilk?

I believe you can do that by pumping put the foremost first and let baby latch and consume the hindmilk. It's better to get some milk in rather than nothing. Like what Grace has mentioned, try to burp baby frequently and let him latch again. You can get a wedge pillow and prop him up.

My spectra valve keeps falling into the bottle. Any advice?

Change to the medela valves - works much better.

My spectra valve has a tear - I don't have a spare valve at home. What do I do?

Do you have any other pumps at home? Try swapping the valve with those valves, for eg the Medela or freemie valves can be swapped with the spectra. otherwise unfortunately you need to pump one side first and then use the valve on the other side when you have drained one boob.

Ideally, I should breastfeed my baby until when? And milk will be the main nourishment until when? is it necessary to offer them formula milk after certain period of time?

Ideally, babies should be sustained solely on breastmilk for the first 6 months and solids can be introduced without cutting down on milk feeds up till 1 year old. After 1 year of age, breastmilk still continues to provide essential nutrients and antibodies which will strengthen your child's immunity. Some moms switch to cow's or goat's milk instead of resorting to formula milk.
