Hello mummies I have a question I thaw 20packey of breastmilk a day before for milk bath however i totally forgotten about it and have left it in a basket for nearly a week isit still safe to shower the kids? Thanks in advance!

I will definitely throw away the milk. Thawed milk should be "consumed" within 24hours. Just in case when you're giving your LO a milk bath and they accidentally "consumed" some milk. I know it's very heartpain to throw away your milk but better be safe.

Hi Mummies I would need an advice from you. I would like to store my breastmilk however im still not sure if BM bag or Bottles would be better to store the milk. I have used ard 350packet of storage Bag for a month plus and i was thinking if bottle would be better can reuse Thanks!

Depends on what u want to do with the milk. If u are not freezing the milk and not building a stash, then milk bottles. Otherwise it would be like what the lady above mentioned. I dun have a lot and I never build stash (I am temp a SAHM), so I just put in bottles, if run out of bottles Caz forgot to give bm, then will use milk bag - but there is the washing and sterilizing which is not that bad because u can do it when u are washing the milk bottle anyway

any mummies using the silicon manual breast pump? heard that it's not very ideal as may hurt the breast etc... as I'm considering to get one and put in office.

You can easily get a smaller electric pump to store in your office. The manual pump is not comfortable and I read that manual pumps in general are kindda redundant these days.

I am currently on exclusive breastfeeding for my 1 month old child. When is the ideal time to start storing breast milk? Is it ok to use bottles to feed my baby? Ive been hearing about nipple confusion and cupping is an encouraged alternative, which i think is quite early for a 1 month old child. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Basically, if you start working, that means going back to work, you can start storing breast milk.

Which is the best milk bag that is not too thin. For storing breast milk. I tried lasinoh but I find it flimsy. Has anyone tried boots, honeysuckle or Unimom? Thanks

I personally love Kiinde Twist Pouch and you can purchase it from Amazon at a much lower price than local distributor;)

How to encourage my 2-year old to stop breastfeeding?

I was forced to stop breastfeeding my elder on when she turned 2, as i got infections around the area due to severe bites. It was painful to see her cry for it, and let me warn you the first few days and even week or two will be really tough. but please stick to it and don't give in. 1. encourage your baby to drink milk in a cute cup. 2. ask daddy or another relative to be around while giving milk, as your baby will associate milk time with you and that could lead to more distress. 3. make the weaning process gradual and don't stop suddenly. also, don't try to wean at bedtime or when your baby is too hungry or tired. try and do it at other times, when baby still wants to feed. 4. let your baby have more solids, as it will keep the tummy full and your baby will drink less milk anyway. all the best :)

It's been over a month that I hav weaned my LO from my breast. But sometimes I feel the urge to offer the breast to her. Is there anyone else who feels the same way?

Reckon this is pretty normal. Breastfeeding is generally a very relaxing sensation. When baby suckles, it stimulates the release of the hormones oxytocin and prolactin in the mother. Oxytocin is responsible for the let-down reflex and the feeling of relaxation. Perhaps you miss that feeling and hence the urge to breastfeed again :) it is after all a beautiful and meaningful experience for all mommies.

I have 6 mos old twin boys. And currently mixed feeding them due to a very low supply breastmilk. But I would like to exclusively breastfeed them. Is there still a chance I can increase my breastmilk production?

Seriously speaking, eat seashells and green leafy veggies will increase your supply. They work for my wife.

I'm app. 5 weeks post delivery. is it true that consumption of liver will hinder or affect milk production?

Never heard of that. So far i know some mummies who took cabbage and mints have seen a reduce in their supply.

will the introduction of pacifier interfere with the baby's ability to latch? (if baby can't latch very well yet)

I've read that pacifiers can cause nipple confusion. That being said, a lot of babies transition smoothly between suckling on mommy's nipples and the pacifier. I reckon you should make sure baby is comfortable with breastfeeding first before introducing the pacifier. Pacifier use in the early weeks may affect milk supply and lead to slow weight gain.
