Hi.. I am not breastfeeding. Do I still latch my baby straight after delivery for colostrum intake?

the more you latch, the faster your milk will come. for colostrum if you are not bf-ing, then you can massage and hand express your breast to stimulate colostrum

How to wean off bm? My son is 16 months old, he direct latch ever since he was a baby. When he was younger, he still uses the bottles and etc, but not anymore. When he doesnt see me, he doesnt eat or drink anything, on good days he only will eat solids. But his solids intake aint good either. I've tried supplementing with formula : Isomil & Dumex Soy, but he rejected all of them, not even my frozen stash of bm. (He is allergic to cow's milk, so not an option). Any mummy can advise me? Thanks

7 months BF journey

Hi, any mums experiencing the same? I direct latch morning & evening, pump at work. Since a month now my son is on solid so i have reduced my pumping. Its been almost a week I no longer feel the need to express as my boobs just stay soft and supple the whole day. The last 2 days i didn’t even pump and i felt ok. I quite enjoy this feeling of not being slaved by full boobs, but also worried that i may drop the supply and can’t really get it back up again. At the moment my freezer is still full with milk that can last a month. I have not actually decided when to stop breastfeeding. If i continue to just latch morning & night, do you think i can maintain that in the next 5mos? Or will i dry up soon?

Might be drying up, like mine stop at about 8 months cause I drop pump. The supply drop drastically

Mixing EBM n formula

is it OK to mix refrigerated EBM and formula tgt?? Do u heat the EBM to room temperature before mixing formula? or mix cold EBM to formula? Im left with 70ml of EBM and my LO drinks 125ml. My other ebm are all frozen and I'm planning to use finish my older batch of ebm before stocking up again on refrigerated ebm

You cannot mix breast milk and formula in the same milk bottle.

is it OK if i plan to stop feeding my baby EBM after she turn 1 month? personally want to stop due to being TOO TIRED from pumping every 2h....

you can slowly drag pump,, from 2hr to maybe 3hr, and then 4, etc. now i pump twice a day, once when i wake up, and once before sleep

Hi mummies im EP and feeding my lo EBM since i got out of hospital. my lo is 20days old so that's how long I've EP. im pumping every 2hrs n I've some advice to drag the hours so i don't have to pump as often. but the issue is once i hit the 3hr onward mark my breast still be engorged.. so how do i get to pump lesser or stretch the hours? does my yield play a part? I'm getting about 150 - 220ml both side in total, usually more when engorged. what do i do

i got regulated around 6 weeks or so (means the boobs doesn't get engorged so easily) so hang in there! typical methods include also to lessen e time pumped

Breast milk Storage

Hello mummies. Would like to ask if I'm preparing to direct latch & pump to build up milk... Should I get a new/second hand freezer? Kind of stuck between getting one and not getting one. In a way cos what if you buy and you ended up not having milk... Or not enough milk etc and end up wasting money on the fridgr or u don't get and u have alot of milk and u need a place to store. What would you do? I can't store at my home fridge as there's a lot of seafood and raw meats in freezer and the fridge is pretty full as well. I also read that it's not good to store breast milk with seafood etc as it will contaminate it. Need advice. Currently 38+2 awaiting my little ones arrival. :>

If you are exclusive pumping, you need a fridge, maybe to save cost, can clear up a small compartment for space ?

during confinement, the practice is we cannot shower, but I still do every 2 days with herbs. so if I wanna DL my baby do I have to wash my breast everytime she wanna feed? or do you just latch straight away without cleaning your nipple? and also how to deal with leaking at night as I don't wear a bra so my shirt and bed is all wet. TIA!

I wipe my Nipple and breast with wet cloth before every feed

Exhausted from pumping

Hi mummies I'm a ftm at 22.. and I'm exclusively pumping bc i couldnt get the hang of latching my LO on and i was getting frustrated so i opted for bottle feeding n pumping. I'm getting very tired from the pumping!! and because of being so tired i do miss my pumping time and end up with engorgement... which rly hurts!!!!! and now i find myself having to pump every 1.5h - 2h which leaves me with little to no sleep/rest... any advice from mummies? also any idea how to slow down my milk production?? and stop engorgement??

U can slowly drag your pump by half an hour and monitor cause it will adapt.
