Engorement or blocked ducts?

I've pumped both manually n with a double pump but my breast still feels full! Kind of have a bruised feeling when i press n have hard spots is it a blocked duct? normal engorgement? what remedies to help do i need to see a doctor??

Have you try hot compression or cold compression. Try cold compress first to unblock then hot compress to kick start the milk

Any mummies that are smokers here?? My friend told me is ok to smoke a cigarette straight after pump (not latching on) &wait 3hours before next pump. is it true? what happens if baby drink bm that has nicotine in it?

Alternate breastmilk and formula milk

Have anyone tried to alternate breastmilk and formula milk? How do u all go about doing it? I will be delivering in end June and travelling for 5 days in August. Hence, I am thinking of alternating between BM and FM so that the baby will be used to FM while I am away. My MIL will help me to feed my baby when I am away.

I let my baby latch on for morning and night feed. In between feeds, bottle-feed breast milk.

very little milk flow after 3 days of giving birth. i gave my baby some formula in the end as she gets frustrated when not fed enough. pumping is also quite painful. normal for first time moms?

hi, i encounter the same thing. mine was also very little flow. i took fenugreek tablet, drink red dates & longan drink to boost my milk supply. drink sufficient of water.

How long does it take to stop breastmilk production?

I’ve taken medication to stop my breastmilk production 1 week ago. Though my breasts are not badly engorged anymore they are still filling up slowly and I get lumpy swollen breasts after 4 days which then needs to be hand expressed or pumped for short 2-3mins to alleviate the discomfort. I’ve also taken sage and ordered tea to stop milk production. How long does it take for my production to dry completely??!

Normally it takes a few days to few weeks. It varies from women to women. You just have to be patient.

Read lots of good reviews for Spectra S1 and thinking of getting it. FTM here and still expecting. Will be going back to work after my maternity leave. Any working mums here using this pump at work? Is it too bulky and heavy for travel? Planning to get only one pump for home and work to save cost.

my twins are 1 week old. T1 hasn't been feeding well unlike her bigger sister, T2, who drinks 30ml easily in 1 sitting. T1 takes half an hour to drink and yet only finishes 20-25ml. what can i do? i want her to drink more cos she's smaller but i dont want to force her.

Children's feeding patterns may vary. But if it really is causing a concern, you may want to consult with your paediatrician to be sure what best you can do.

Can anybody recommend me any breastfeeding talks? In Singapore. Guess it's really not easy as we think. My friends are having a hard time. And i wanna learn and read up more abt this. I actually had no knowledge on breastfeeding and nobody told me also. I have to read up more..
