Lactation mummies: Do you continue to breastfeed immediately after vaccination?

How do you get used to waking up every 2 hours to feed your newborn and not feel so tired? It's the 3rd week but I am still feeling exhausted. I try to sleep as much as possible when my baby is sleeping but I am unable to do so all the time since time is taken up to eat, wait for the food to be digested, boil herbal water for shower etc. I do understand that it is unlikely that breastfeeding mothers get to even sleep straight 4 to 6hours for at least the first 6 months or so and we also need to pump to prevent engorgement or blocked duct... 😰

Is there anyone who can help you? Like your husband or get a confinement nanny or helper for this time being given that you are still in your confinement period. For my case I have my husband and mum to help so during the day I will either breastfeed or pump then during the night I will pump but my husband or my mum will feed my baby with formula.

Short of breath

Is it normal to feel short of breath during breastfeeding period? I have my first menstrual two weeks ago.

I am not sure . I haven't heard about this before. But you better seek medical attention if they're severe.

Breastmilk supply

Hello hello FTM here! Can I ask other moms when did you establish enough breastmilk to get your LO through one feed? I'm three weeks PP, and am pumping only an average of 30-40ml every three hours.

I had v low supply in the first month too so I tried all kinds of galactagogues, breastfed and pumped more and started Legendairy supplements at 4 weeks. Only at 5 wks I was able to increase my supply frm 40-50ml to abt 120ml. Still not significantly high as my boy drinks alot so I still continued to supplement him with formula.

COVID-19 vaccination while BF or pumping?

Hello! Any breastfeeding or pumping Moms here planning to get the COVID-19 vaccine? Official MOH recommendation from early this year appears to be to stop breastfeeding for 5 to 7 days after getting the vaccine. I’m still undecided.

Breastfeeding and COVID vaccine

Hello! Has anyone taken the COVID vaccine yet? If yes, how do you deal with the milk supply? Some suggested milk bath for babies, but what’s your suggestion?

Follow breastfeeding group in FB. Most still breastfeeds even after taking the vaccination and assured by the LC that it's safe

Strepsils safe for BF mum?

Got a fever from my 3 mth old infant who have already recovered. Question is : I am breastfeeding him and I'm having sore throat too. Can I take Strepsils? Can I also drink the 3 Legged Cooling water?

Milk duct clog armpit

Hi all, i was advised by massue to take 4 pill to help on clog. Just deliver on 10 may.. Anybody tried taking more thn capsules advised in bottle?

I did not take this but took 6 pills of Legendairy Sunflower Lecithin on some of the days when I had alot plugged ducts (can literally feel painful lumps but didn't go away even when I increase pumping and breastfeeding). It helped me to clear within 1-2days. Aft tt I just take 4 or 2 pills depending how my breasts feel.

Covid vaccination

I saw that it is better for nursing mums to stop nursing for 5-7 days after vaccination. I let my baby latch on all the time so I do not have pump or milk bottles. Therefore it's impossible for me to pump and keep for post vaccine use. And my baby have been latching on and may not accept a bottle so quickly. Just want to know what will you do if you have the same situation as me. Will you continue to take the vaccine? Even if it's safe to continue breastfeeding after taking vaccine, will you take the risk?

Nope. Kkh also recommend to pump and dump after taking vaccine for the next 5-7days
