when breastmilk is low, im asked to pump more. but everytime i pump i only get so little or sometimes just droplets. only the first morning pump is more but also not so much prolly 20ml per breast. so how else cn i increase my supply? because pumping low milk to nothing really hurts.

Storing expressed breastmilk

Hi mummies, can I store the expressed breastmilk in the freezer after keeping it in a cooler bag for more than 6hrs? I’m returning back to work soon and would like to learn how to store the milk safely.

Sure you can! But don’t just build your stash like that. It depends on your milk and baby’s preference. Some breast milk has a high amount of lipase. The longer milk is kept at room temperature or even in the refrigerator before being frozen, the more lipase activity it will have. Some babies are okay with that taste some are not! So before u build a huge stash, you might wanna do a test run on your baby. I used to store my milk like that, then apparently baby don’t like the taste. So I wasted quite a huge amount of bm. And I no longer store my milk that way anymore. I will pump and freeze or fridge.

Making so much noise and keep flowing out milk

My 26 Days old baby has been making so much noise like snorting kind of noise at night every feed.. and milk keep flowing out even after burping.. what is that noise and why is the milk keep flowing out? But she is growing...

the noise is normal, regulating the airways. milk flow out cos probably drank a bit too much

I just had c sec on 1st May but struggling with producing breast milk. Breast are full n firm but let down through breast pump is very minimum not even half oz. I tried hot press n pumping every 2hours. Any suggestions or advice?

Sudden no engorgement

Hello mummies, my baby is coming to 3 months. Yesterday my milk supply was alright but suddenly this morning I can no longer feel my engorgement and breast suddenly feel soft. No more leaking and when I pump I can only get less than half than what I normally get. Does it mean that my milk supply has drop? Like how come sudden one night can change so much in my milk supply. I don’t really pump, mostly latch on demand. Just worried that my baby won’t get enough. I’ve read that could be many possibilities like pregnant, menses will be coming back,stress, tired, lack of water, not eating enough or maybe my breast is already regulate to the amount that my baby needs. So my baby usually poops 3-5 times a day. Is that the only way to tell whether is my baby getting enough milk? What can I do to make sure I have enough or slightly more for my baby? Power pump? Or increase my pump after latching baby? Thanks in advance!

Need some advise to increase milk supply. Have been trying out lactation cookies and tea, fenugreek but dont see much results. 5 weeks pp now and currently pumping out about 40ml, max 60ml. No feeling of engorgement though, is my supply stagnant? #advicepls #1stimemom

Latching newborn

Does anyone of your hubby doesn’t encourage you to breastfeed? As far as possible, i would love to breastfeed my newborn but it’s quite depressing as i couldn’t find the right positions to latch and baby is not interested in latching. Told Hubby and he commented “anything i can, but latching is none of my business.” which i’m quite disappointed and felt depressed about it.

My ger was very impatient and couldnt really latch. I couldnt find a good position for her and soon i got tired as well. I feel ur hb feels helpless and theres nth he could do.

Confinement wine

Hi, would like to know if any mummies drink confinement wine 米酒 while breastfeeding? My mum told me to cook food with it and made bottles of it for me. But I am worried about the alcohol in level in it as I read that there will still be some left even after long hours of cooking. I intended to breastfeed my baby.

yes many mummies did that. avoid feeding the next few hours to be safe. your body’s recovery is important too

Milk supply stagnant

I have been pumping about 2-3 hrs interval, however supply still hovers around 40-50ml. Only when i power pump that im able to get up to 95ml. Is my supply stagnant? Im 6 weeks pp

I managed to increase my supply by taking sunflower lecithin & the trial bottles (pump princess, milkapalooza & liquid gold) from Legendairy. Also, I changed my pump from Babyexpress BeMine to BeFree. I used to pump 45-90ML/3hourly (both side combined, 30mins session) while using BeMine. It was so stressful for me because I couldn’t pump enough to feed baby. After confinement, I had to take care of baby alone so I cannot be tied down to the pump hence I finally got a handsfree pump at 2 months PP and surpringly my first try with Befree I managed to yield 180ML/3hourly.(Combined, 20 mins) I’m currently 4m PP, currently pumping 180~240ML/5hourly. I also managed to build up a freezer stash! 🥹 Above is just my personal experience, it may or may not work for you. But I personally think that not seeing the bottle while pumping helps a lot! At the very least I won’t feel so stressed about the amount.
