Breast feeding or formula after 1 year old

Hi, I would like to ask whether breast feeding or formula is better after 1year old as I’m hearing things like formula is better when one reach 1 year old as the vitamins or nutrients is found in formula than breast milk ? Any comments pls

Hi dear, WHO recommend mummy to breastfeed baby to 2 yrs old, breast milk is the best baby friendly food.

Hi mummies i do direct breast feeding. I also do pumping. When i pump very low supply like at least 10- 15ml. The thing is when baby latch she seem comfortable latching , wonder is she sucking too long cos more milk.. im confuse 😔#pleasehelp #firstbaby

If she falls asleep at the boob, it’s most probably comfort latching (human pacifier). You can roughly gauge how long she suckles then detach when she falls asleep. It is also normal to pump only a little after latching. If you’re trying to build up your supply, just keep pumping and latching. Overtime it will increase. Can also try latching > pump, baby sleeping maybe after an hour > pump > latch. If too intermittent feeding then just pump after latching without the additional pumping in between. If you set your mind and confirm you’ll only breastfeed, can join the BMSG group on fb. *Do note that this is not for you if intend to mix feed.*

Hi mummies, any reviews on fairprice gold formula stage 1? If my baby(1 mth) have phlegm issit okay?

hi mummy. i'm not sure if phlegm is related to formula. best to consult pd. if it's advised to change formula then you can try other brand. ☺️

Pump milk need help

Hi mummies, need some help I do try latch my 8 days old baby but unfortunately it doesn't turn out well... I do managed pump out 5 oz of colostrum for her to drink but is there a way to pump breast milk without latching baby... Will supply fades off if we don't latch... #advicepls

hi mummy! congratulations to your newborn! don't stress out yourself too much at this point. do take care of yourself. there are some mummies who do exclusive pumping which means they don't latch their babies. our body works on a supply and demand mode when it comes to producing breast milk, the more our lo latches, the more our body will be able to produce.

My favourite breastfeeding moment is the satisfaction when I can produce breastmilk to feed my baby. With all the antibodies and nutrients in the breastmilk, it is definitely beneficial for my baby. After we give birth, hospital have been promoting breastfeeding and having LC coming in to teach new moms like me the tips and ways to breastfeed. Am enjoying the time spend with during breastfeeding
