Blackmores pregnancy & breastfeeding

Any mummies taking blackmores pregnancy & breastfeeding postpartum? How is it ? Does it help with milk supply or general health after birth ?

I really feel you on this, the postpartum period can be so overwhelming and you just want to make sure you are giving your body what it needs. A friend of mine took Blackmores Pregnancy and Breastfeeding after her delivery and she said it helped her feel less run down overall, especially during those exhausting early weeks. She mentioned it was gentle on her stomach which was a relief since some supplements can cause nausea leh. She did not notice a dramatic change in supply specifically, but said combining it with staying hydrated and latching frequently made a real difference for her.

Wash breast pump at work

Assuming theres no fridge at work, how do you usually wash your breast pumps and store them after every session if you need to pump 2-3 times at work? Do i just use water + bottle soap & tissue/air dry? Before storing in ziplock bag ? #firsttimemom

use sterilisation tablets after washing with soap, use tissue to dry and put in ziplock

Sanitise nipple before every feed

Ftm here, do we need to sanitise or wash our nipples before every feed and pump? Since we’ll be sweaty or scared our body is dirty #FTM

Just wash or wipe your nipple with wet cloth should be okay. No need to sanitize.

Pump duration to stimulate milk

Ftm here, and would like to know. I heard that some mom’s milk or even colostrum wont be in until few days after delivery and heard that we would or we can pump to stimulate milk production. In the event if we pump regularly every 2-3 hrs but still little to no milk, do we continue pumping for 15-20mins every session ? #firsttimemom #advicepls

you can continue pumping if you have the energy.. i was also advised to keep pumping but didn’t do it diligently because i was exhausted, but the milk still kicked in on it’s own on day 3 and i had oversupply all the way for a year.

What to do with the remaining breastmilk when LO can't finish it

My LO is almost 4mo, she can drink up to 100ml of milk each time, but most of the time she drinks 60-80ml within 1h, so I always end up throwing up away the remaining breastmilk. Any tips or advice on how to not waste the BM? How long can BM last outside after heating up?

remaining bm can be used for bath too. If im not mistaken, room temp and heated bm can last 2 hrs, bt once baby drinks it, it can only last an hr

Both side of breast pump same brand

Is it mandatory to buy both sides of (handsfree) breast pump of the same brand and type? As i thought of getting different brands for each side to see which brand is better etc. or is it not advisable ? #advicepls

I thought breast pumps always come in pairs?

Mama’s choice almond milk booster

Anyone tried mama’s choice almond milk booster drink and did it help to increase your milk supply ? #FTM

From what I've heard, quite a few mums did notice a difference within the first week of drinking it, which is encouraging. Some mums I know find one cup a day is enough to see results, so it seems quite manageable to work into your routine. Worth giving it a try and seeing how your body responds, every mum is different, but the feedback around it has generally been quite positive!

Clogged milk ducts - swollen armpits

I’m 6 days post partum and I have clogged milk ducts on both my armpits. Baby is not latching well so I have been pumping my milk out. Any remedies for swollen armpits?

11 weeks old hating tummy time!

Hi Mummies, My 11 weeks old boy hates tummy time. I have tried different styles - on bed, on cushion, on my chest - everything! I have also tried putting soft toys on front of him so that he can enjoy tummy time! After 1 to 2 minutes he starts crying. What do I do ? Any other mums faced this ? I am worried this will impact his overall growth and development :( #firsttimemom #pleasehelp

don’t worry so much just keep practicing everyday until he gets used to it. tummy time is not enjoyable for most babies. doesnt mean there’s entertainment in front of him means he will like it, it’s temporarily not comfortable for their bodies training their core muscles that’s not developed. it’s like when we exercise too hard on our own core muscles, it’s not comfortable but it’s good physical development. just stop when he cries and try again next day. don’t stress him and yourself. each baby will develop on its own time, have faith in him.
