Going on short trip without bringing our baby

I am currently breastfeeding & formula-feeding my son. My husband & I are planning to go on a short trip without bringing our child. I don’t want to completely cut off breastmilk from my son. My concern is how will I sustain my milk supply without pumping during the trip? How do I face the breast engorgement without expressing? Should I bring my breastpump? But what do I do with the milk then? Will my milk supply will be the same once i’ve return from my trip? #advicepls #sos #firsttimemom #firstbaby

Yes you should still continue pumping otherwise it will signal to your body that you no longer need to produce milk. confirm will have engorgement without expressing, you should bring your breast pump. Have to throw the milk or use it to bathe yourself, can’t store. Milk supply will maintain if you maintain the frequency of bf and latching.

Is this normal poop?

Hi my new born is 1 month 25 days. Last Friday and today her poop is like this, she is fully on breastmilk. Was just wondering why is the poop colour not yellowish and is this normal poop? Need to bring to see PD?

Normal, bm babies usually have yellowish mustard poops.

Nipple sore/crack/bleed

Hi mummies, if our nipple sore, crack or bleed, do you still let baby latch ? Or you just pump instead ? #FTM

You can still latch if you can tahan. Just apply nipple cream after latching.

Should i get a breast pump before or after baby is born?

Hi mummies, FTM here seeking for your advice. I am still considering whether to get a breast pump now or should i wait until baby is out? Reason being, i’m not sure if i have/have enough supply for BM, will i end up giving FM to baby? If yes, that will be a waste of $ to get a pump if i don’t really get to use it. Do you mummies get a breast pump before or after baby is born? Also, any tips to look out for a suitable breast pump? Thank you!

I would get before baby's born and I will get reasonable price brand like Philip Avent. I have been using this brand for both kids. I will direct latch and afterwhich pump after every feeding.

Does your husband also wake up to accompany you to breastfeed baby during night and super early morning feeds ?

Nipple confusion

I have yet to deliver but would want to know, How to prevent baby from getting nipple confusion when we start introducing bottle? Alternate with breastfeed And if it happens, how do you solve it so baby will latch again ? #FTM

I’m not sure if bottle makes a difference.. but I was using both Avent and Pigeon bottle. I also latch baby. Latch bottle feed. Alternate or bottle feed most of the time and only latch 1-2 times a day. My baby was also fully bottle fed at the hospital for the first few days.. My baby did not have any nipple confusion..latches well too.

How to mixfeed baby with formula

Hi mummies, FTM here. How do i mixfeed my baby with formula if i have low supply ? Eg baby drinks 60ml, and i can only produce 10ml of breastmilk, the remaining 50ml will be formula am i right ? And how do i gauge the number of scoops i need if the instruction only shows for 60/90ml, Do i just roughly gauge the scoop more or less ? And also eg if i store my expressed breastmilk in fridge and when i want to mix with formula, does it have to be warmed separately before mixing ? As i read we cannot leave chilled milk at room temp. #FTM

I feed bm first, then top up with formula. Sometimes I collect the bm and feed when it reaches the needed quantity. Last time I used to gauge like 1/2 scoop of formula. Now I just make more and let the baby drinks as much as she needs.

Consuming Elpha jelly during breastfeeding

Hello all, any mommies incorporate Elpha Jelly into their daily intake while breastfeeding?

For slimming products, best recommend to take it after you stop. I didn’t take elpha but I took susenji instead, everytime I took, next day baby will diarrhoea instead of me pooping. I tried it thrice on different occasions to confirm 😂.
