How long does each breastfeeding latching session take for a 5 weeks old newborn?

Each feeding may last 20 - 30 minutes where you will breast feed 10 -15 minutes on each

Jevonbaby breast pump

Has anyone used this brand before? Saw good reviews and bought it but doesn't seem to work on me. Does it work on you? Causing me so much pain.. In the end I used my old pump.

Have been wondering if I should get Jevonbaby too! Can’t seem to find any balanced reviews and it seems like most reviews were from sponsored posts so a bit skeptical. Appreciate if anyone who bought it can share an honest review!

OVERY SUPPLY BRRAST MILK

I have difficulties with my milk supply. Everytime i pump , it s 200 ml++ , people might say it s a blessings. But now apparently my life is all about pumping, cant even hug my son , cos everytime i hear he cries, it leaks. Any inputs to decrease the supply?

Can try to use cold cabbage to lower the supply and also, don’t fully empty your breast. Because it works on supply and demand, the more you empty, it will signal the body to produce more. Hope this helps!

Bleeding more at 3 weeks post partum

I was having lochia and was tapering down for a while, but I started re-bleeding with bright red blood again today (24 days post partum), soaking through a pad (feels like mensus day 1 or 3)…. Is his normal or should I see a doctor?

I had lochia for 12 weeks and it was on and off bleeding at the last few weeks before it officially stopped. I flagged out to my gynae and she told me it’s normal. Generally, it lasts 4-6 weeks for most mommies. Did PAP smear test and result came back all good. If you’re worry, just go see a doctor to have a peace of mind!

Hello mummies, able to share some of your experiences with C section or Induction?

Hi, I'm at Week 37 and my baby did not seem to increase weight from week 35 scan and gynae showed me the placenta has white spots already, degrating as nearing EDD. Been trying to take food such as yogurt, red meat, nuts, fruits, milk, maternity milk, ice cream, snacks to boost weight. Going for another scan in 2 days and if no additional weight gain, doctor will highly suggest to deliver the next day or day after so baby can absorb better nutrients and grow outside the womb. I'm worried about the options of induction and C section, saw some mummies saying induction takes around 30 hours and it's painful, C section is faster but more painful recovery. Would like to get some reassurance from the community Thanks for reading. ##AskingAsAMom #firsttimemom #FTM

I had induction at week 38. I also heard scary stories about induction so was afraid too but it wasn't as scary as I thought. They gave me laughing gas to distract myself as the checking of dilation and inserting of pill can be uncomfortable. Induction may takes very long to be effective. My gynae says some people need more than 1 pill as 1 pill only lasts 24 hours but if contractions doesn't start, you don't feel anything after the insertion of the pill. My contractions became pain only about 18 hours after the insertion of pill. I was 4cm dilated at that time. Before that I was doing squats, playing with my phone, lying down on bed sleeping. However do take note induction may not works for everyone. If it doesn't works (means no dilation at all), gynae may advise you to go for c section. Luckily for me it works and I managed to give birth naturally.

Umbilical cord fell off 7 days ago and still has dried blood when cleaned. Baby was bath everyday after we came home by CL. Is there any concern? The cord was only 3cm. Got so short? Did the doc cut too short? Anyone has similar experience?

Had the same experience with my baby about the dried blood at the belly button after umbilical cord fell off. She just opened baby's belly button carefully and removed the dried blood then said it's nothing to worry about and won't hurt the baby. After few days belly button looks normal

Dulac or lactogen

Hi mommy out there, which milk for infant is good ? Dulac 1 or lactogen 1? My baby seems to have constipation with Dulac, isit common or should i change to lactogen instead ? #firsttimemom #FTM help me please 😢

What works for other babies might not work for your baby. You need to try and error to see which formula milk suits your baby most. My baby is currently taking Nestle NAN Optipro 1.

36 wks already but doc didnt mention any inducement needed, will baby come out when she wants?

First time mum #nervous

36 weeks actually still considered early...Gynaes won't suggest labour induction unless it's necessary. Sometimes the induction will still fail and you will have to go through C-section instead so just a heads up on this risk. Best to let your baby come out naturally

Collecting Colostrum

Hey ladies… Maybe I can ask here. I'm 36 weeks and 2 days old, and I've started collecting colostrum. But it seems like this is still a pro and con for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant mothers. What do you think about this? And also every time I do this, I feel no contractions and so on. Does this have many functions later on for the baby? And one more thing.. there s one skin tag under the nipple. And it s super annoying. Anyone has this?

Hey mama, I started around 36 weeks too 😊 A lot of us only get tiny drops at first, totally normal one. Sometimes can collect 0.5–1ml only after quite a bit of effort. Don’t stress about the amount. The stimulation and practice is the main thing. I used a warm compress + gentle massage before hand expressing and it helped a lot. Some days got more, some days almost nothing. Also make sure your gynae already cleared you to collect ah, because nipple stimulation can trigger contractions for some mums. Honestly even a few syringes of colostrum can be super useful after delivery, especially if baby cluster feeds or needs topping up. You’re doing great already!
