Errant Pregnancy Meals Company - Stay away

Sharing my own experience for SG mommies. During my initial pregnancy, I was put on bed rest. For peace of mind and wanting to have more nutritious food, I found this company online which advertised themselves as providing pregnancy meals catering. (Co. name is pregnancy meals catering pte ltd) I paid S$900+ for 14days lunch and dinner service. On the first day, wrong items (even though I checked and confirmed with them my dietary restrictions could be met before I placed order) arrived for both meals. On the 2nd day, meals arrived late. Lunch at 220pm and dinner at 830pm, despite telling me it will be on time after lunch came late. I had to order grab food as I was really hungry and not knowing will their meals even arrive. So these meals I rejected when they finally came. Having to deal with these additional stress(and hunger) while I’m already stressing abt my pregnancy. I told them I will like to terminate the remaining unused days and be refunded the same. It took me 2 days to finally get someone call me back. The person agreed to check and call me back with resolution soon. But after that, they ignored all my messages, stopped replying and no call back. I tried calling back the same number, my calls were ignored. I brought this up to CASE, they did not respond to CASE too and now I’ve filed a claim with Small Claims Tribunals. The money paid is secondary, but I can’t get over how unethical this company is, and especially preying on pregnant moms whom usually have many worries on our minds as it is, not to mention those of us going through some other worrying conditions. I hope this can prevent more mommies becoming potential victims of this company.

I’m 29 weeks pregnant

Does anyone know when will the doctors start talking about labour and delivery, how to be prepared or what to do in case of labour pain or whatever? I’m under NUH and 7months preggy, and docs are yet to talk about it. Just wanna be mentally prepared.

same here babe! 7 months & NUH too. i did mentioned it to them about the labour preparations but what they have told me is that they will brief more when its closer to date. i was nervous at first and i do understand that some people might get early labour. we’ll just have to trust the process babe, we can do this together!

C-sect with Dr Lee Jiahmin from KKH. Any reviews?

Any reviews from past mummies on Dr Lee Jiahmin's suturing skills for c-sect?

From what I've generally heard, Dr Lee Jiahmin's suturing tends to get pretty consistent praise, neat stitches and faster-than-expected recovery seem to come up a lot. One mum I know who had her C-section under him mentioned she healed really quickly and didn't even need those cooling gel packs afterward, which says a lot. Compared to some other KKH gynae experiences people mention, his stitchwork does seem to stand out on the better end. That said, everyone's body heals differently, so it's always worth going for a consult first to see if you're comfortable with him personally before deciding.

anyone knows which brand of newborn diapers does SGH use? do they have alternate brands if the baby have skin allergies?

SGH use huggies brand. my baby has no issue with the diaper brand.

Hi, just had my 28 weeks ultrasound scan earlier today at KKH. During the scan, the doctor pressed my tummy too hard and was quite rough, now my tummy feel cramp. Does anyone experienced the same thing? Should I tell them not to press so hard next time? #FTM

Glucose Test Result

Hi mummies, I’m preg 25 weeks now and did my glucose test. Can I know if my result is normal as attached reading result.

A tip for those taking the glucose test, try refrain consuming anything sweet 24 hours before the test. I'm not sure if it works for everyone, but my results were within normal range.

Any “patang-ness” to attend wedding during confinement?

Is there any patang beliefs that one should not attend a family wedding during confinement?

I never attended any wedding function during confinement this is to avoid unnecessary remarks, comments, negative vibes during gatherings. Also to ensure during confinement is for me to heal and rest properly after birth. Therefore I will pantang and stay home until confinement completed.

NUH such a wonderful hospital.

I’ve been making partial payments every time I get my pay on every month 20th, and I just paid about $100 plus few weeks back, I’ve paid over $700 since March and I have about $400 plus outstanding, which I’m paying monthly bit by bit, we have blady Medisave which stupidly only can be claimed after the baby is delivered! Today I just came for my fetal scan which was arrange by the doctor due to my weight gain which was important, I was told that they will reschedule my appointment after my bill is paid and was told to leave. As I’m walking out, they called me back for the scan, I said you just asked me to leave! Seriously being pregnant is Singapore is f’ed up. What’s the point of having a blady Medisave and it can’t be used for prenatal cares during prenatal visits. Being pregnant is already tough, and people make pregnant women life even tougher. If so why should we even come for appointments, ask them not to give appointments then! Let them be held responsible for whatever that might happen to our baby. ALSO they’re SUPER RESPONSIVE TO THE EMAILS WE SEND! I’ve sent a few emails and have never gotten ANY REPLIES!

YES i agree.. NUH system is cocked up now. After they moved the clinic. the staffs at the counter didn't mention anything abt using Medisave. I hv been paying cash too. the previous clinic on the ground floor years back, the service were better.

TMC/Claudine Tan’s rates

Has anyone delivered via dr Claudine tan @ TMC recently? What are the total costs for a vaginal birth? Just wanna know a rough gauge before I select my gynae as I heard it can get quite high. #FTM

I really feel you on this, choosing a gynae is such a big decision especially as a FTM and the costs can be quite stressful to figure out upfront. I don't have the exact figures for Dr Claudine Tan on hand, but I'd suggest calling TMC's billing department directly as they can give you a breakdown of the estimated costs for vaginal delivery including the gynae fees, hospital stay, and any extras. It would also help to check what your insurance or Medishield Life covers so you have a clearer picture of your out-of-pocket amount lah. Hopefully another mum here who has delivered with her recently can share their actual experience too.

Fasting Glucose Test

I’m scheduled for fasting glucose test, I’ll be 24 weeks next week, my question is can we drink water during the waiting period AFTER taking the glucose drink?
