NUH A ward - C-Sect

Hi! I'm looking at NUH A ward for C-sect 1) Does anybody have the price range for this? In MOH website it states about 4.5 to 7k, is this correct? 2) How much deposit is needed? 3) Do I need to pay the balance upon discharge or wait for bill to send to home? Thank you! #firsttimemom #FTM

Hi! Will be giving birth next month and choosing the B2 ward at SGH. Any idea if husband can stay overnight? Thank you!

No. Only during visiting hours (for rooms) unless you upgrade to single ward.

Cramp and pressure on pelvic area

Hi, I'm 31 weeks as of today. Since afternoon, I've been having Extreme pressure and cramp on my pelvic area and lower abdomen. It's so bad that walking is a painful task for me the whole day. Asking if this requires medical attention or I can just rest at home? I'm quite unsure how to go to a&e at kkh this late as my previous pregnancy are induced so the dr's and hospital did not guide me through anythg.

i’m in the same week as you and experiencing the same thing. i asked my kkh gynae for a note to allow me to wfh. doesn’t require medical attention, just less movement that puts weight on the region.. the diagnosis is symphysis pubis dysfunction. you can google more on what treatment to do

Referral to KKH

Hi mummies, has anyone been in this situation before: In the third trimester, experienced some unusual and worrying symptoms. Called obgyn at private hospital and asked to go to KKH for a check-up. Just wondering why go to KKH and not to the private hospital first, since I've been seeing their doctor there? Under what circumstances would obgyns refer mummies to KKH instead of their own hospital?

when the case requires more specialist attention that cannot be treated by drs in private hospital

Heartburn during bedtime and I always ended up fall asleep at wee hours due to uncomfortable

What you usually do mummy's,when heartburn attack you during bedtime, I tried to drink plain cold water ,, but It didn't go away...

take gaviscon and sleep on left side. water will make it worse

Hey dear, so sorry to hear you're dealing with a cough at 29 weeks, that third trimester struggle is real! From what I've heard, a lot of mums swear by the simple home remedy of warm water with honey, lemon, and a bit of ginger, which seems gentle and safe, though of course it works better for milder coughs. On the medication side, someone in my mum group mentioned that guaifenesin and dextromethorphan are generally considered safer options during pregnancy, but the key thing is they really should be taken only with a doctor's go-ahead, not just grabbed off the shelf. Some mums also found sucking on lozenges helpful just to soothe the throat in the meantime while waiting for the cough to settle. It's worth weighing the home remedies first since they carry fewer risks, but if the cough is persistent or getting worse, that's really a sign to loop in your OB or GP to get the right guidance for your specific situation, better safe than sorry at this stage!

I totally understand how worrying this must feel, finding out about a double nuchal cord on top of the breech position at 33 weeks. When I was pregnant with my second, my gynae also flagged something unexpected at one of my scans and I remember just staring at the screen feeling so anxious, not knowing what to think. The good thing is you still have a few more weeks to go, and babies can shift positions and cords can move too, so things may look different by the time you are closer to your due date. That said, with something like this it is really important to keep all your follow-up appointments and speak openly with your gynae or specialist about what it means for your delivery plan, so they can monitor you and baby closely. Please do not hesitate to call your gynae's clinic if you feel uncertain or need reassurance before your next appointment. You are doing the right thing by asking questions, and I hope you get good news at your next scan.

Questions for Mummy with Gestational Diabetes

share with me about your delivery experience. do you need to get induce and do c section or are you able to wait for the baby to come by its own and normal delivery? i'm quite anxious thinking about it.

Constipation @ 28 weeks preg

Hi mummies, is it normal to have constipation at around 28 weeks preg? If yes, any advice or remedies on how to go about?

Pregnant and frustration,pissed off with spouse.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I am literally pissed off and frustrated with my spouse... He always reach home late, if it's not 12midnight he won't be at home. Once he reach home,, he doesn't know how to prioritize his hygiene... Like shower first before coming to bed..not only that ,, he always want to have sex. When I reject him or move away from him,, he will sigh and ask me what is the problem with me... I am all day long tired doing the house chores,, handling 3 other children of ours..every sgl time due to this we will ended up argue and acted cold towards each other.

so sad to hear that from u mummy but dont be so stress not good also to your baby.I think u need to talk to your husband about what is your main concern.So u wont pissed off.
