Would love people's thoughts on the pros and cons of tandem versus side by side double strollers.

I have used both before. While side by side stroller is cuter and kids can interact with each other, I find tandem is more practical in Singapore. The reasons are: - side by side stroller is hard to maneuver and it is very dangerous to go into the lift as the size of the stroller is almost same size with the lift door. There was once my kid' finger was knocked by the lift door as he placed his hand at the stroller handle. Tandem stroller can move around like a single stroller. - side by side stroller is not convenient to be used in public transport. The crowds in MRT make it hard to find a space to park and move around. For bus, you need to fold it and bring up and side by side stroller is harder to be fold. Tandem stroller is easier to move around in crowded places e.g. MRT, shopping centres.
