Request for HL

Hi working mummies, do u request for early HL before EDD or your gynae will automatically offer you when you are 7or 8mths pregnant? I’m currently under subsidized clinic at KKH, no fixed specialist yet. Isit true dr at subsidized clinic won’t give HL to us?

For me I was granted 5 wks HL due to asthma, I was with private hosp tho. My colleague who was with KKH private only managed to get 1 wk even tho she has asthma too. Frm what many mummies shared, seems gov hospitals arent as flexible in giving HLs even for those on private scheme in NUH and KKH. You may still want to try if u have some kind of health condition but chances may be slim.

Even private gynae won't anyhow give you HL unless you have complications with your health or pregnancy.

Most private gynae that I know are more generous in issuing HL prior to EDD.One of my friend got HL 6-7 weeks before her EDD and she’s in private hospital.
