Pacifier and breastfeeding

Hi. Wondering if it's alright to introduce pacifier while trying to breastfeed my baby.. Since there's difficulty in breast milk production for me but baby keeps wanting to latch despite no milk coming out.. Will pacifier be a good idea? For now, im cup feeding my newborn..
