Who has an insensitive spouse? How do you deal with him/her?

Hi, Well! I do not know a mature way in this and what I feel is that insensitivity should be dealt in a tit for tat way. Like when the other person goes through the same emotional displeasure as he has done with the partner then only he/she understands how things hurt. And then you have to tell them that look, this is how it feels when you do the same thing. But, then do not leave, making the other person feel that you avenged for his/her bad behaviour, rather tell them that you never wanted to behave the way he/she does but did the same only to make him/her realise that how the other person feels.
