Hi, my child is 2.5 years old. She has been drinking HIPP organic cow milk since she was a newborn. After turning 2, she started having hard stools. At home, she passes stool frequently, but only a small amount each time and needs to strain. Could it be that the milk is no longer suitable for her age? Should I explore goat milk or cow milk of other brand?

Check that her fibre intake (fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, legumes) and hydration is sufficient. Also, is she having more milk vs solid food? And yes, at the side you can explore goat milk to complement her meals as they tend to have more sn-2 PA, which in some studies have been shown to produce softer stools. Goats milk also tends to have more natural oligosaccharides which can act as prebiotics to promote overall gut health.
