There is a higher chance of getting your periods if: 1. You are not feeding on demand 2. You bottle feed expressed breastmilk 3. Baby is more than 6 months old 4. Baby is not trained to sleep through the night So typically most exclusive breastfeeding mummies get their periods between 12-24 months. Some before and some after. As for myself I had my first period barely 4 months post partum. I latch on demand and only pump to relieve. My baby does not sleep through the night as well. Oh well, count myself lucky. Hahaha!
Did you mean "after delivery?" It differs from woman to woman. For exclusively breastfeeding women, periods might take months to return whereas it is shorter for those who bottle feed their babies. Do take in mind that ovulation might occur even before your period returns, so do take care. http://www.whattoexpect.com/first-year/week-16/period.aspx
I got my period in 8th month after pregnancy. But every woman body & circumstances are different, so there's no reliable way to predict. In general, breastfeeding moms will get periods after 6months, whereas nonnursing moms will get periods in 1-3months.
Usually you start bleeding if you have a normal delivery and the bleeding lasts for almost a month. For me the period after delivery stopped after 20-25 days, though the bleeding was quite light at the end.
