I started tummy time for my daughter soon after she was born. She was able to hold her head up at about 1 month plus and could hold steadily at about 3 months. By 3 to 4 months, your baby should be able to lift his head up while on tummy time at 45 degrees and keep it steady. While every baby develops at a different pace, these guidelines are there for doctors to detect developmental delays. http://www.babycenter.com/0_baby-milestones-head-control_6579.bc

As a guide, at three to four months, a baby may be able to raise his/her head up to 45 degrees while lying on the tummy. By six months, baby would have developed neck muscles strong enough to help up his/her head. However, every baby is different and this is just a general guide.

It depends on the baby. My baby is able to hold his head up at 1 month old. Some others may say that only can hold up steadily around 4 months old. It may be able to help her by having more tummy time. Every baby is different so it's best not to compare.

Generally by 2 months they should be able to hold head for short periods. For steady, about 3 months? But it varies from baby to baby. My baby was able to hold her head steady from about 4-5 weeks.
