when we can put baby in walker

Just to add on, I’ve gathered from the KKH article that it is not advisable to put baby in a walker. It may cause your baby to walk later. Seems like walkers will hinder or slow down a baby’s development of balance and walking skills. It is also highlighted in the article that a walker may cause atypical walking pattern. The hips and knees are bent and baby will likely be on his/her toes while walking in the walker. This causes the baby to use different muscle groups for walking and this may become a habit that is difficult to correct in future. There is also a higher chance of baby injuring themselves as they are able to travel faster in a walker. Accidents can happen in a split second before a parent could react. For more information, you can take a look at this article: http://www.kkh.com.sg/HealthPedia/Pages/GrowingUpWalking.aspx That being said, I do have friends use it sparingly. They wanted to let their child have some "autonomy" exploring the house, and would put their babies into the walker for just 5-10mins and following behind their babies just to be safe.

I put my boy in walker when he was 4/5mths old when his neck is strong and stable enough to hold his head up steady. most importantly is both its feet are able to touch the floor flat which tip-toeing. The walker that i have can adjust the height then its more flexible to cater for different stages or height. For a start dont put too long, about 5 to 10min is ok. Sometimes we need to do things, thus walker comes handy. It has activities to entertain LO for awhile while we do our things. Also in walker LO can explore around when learn to move with supervision. Importantly, take note of time and both feet flat on floor. My LO walk steadily at 10mths with no issue=) Still depends on individual preferences.

I am guilty of putting my child in a walker even after reading the KKH article. I guess for just 15mins a day should be quite ok? Anyway I only put my child in after she can comfortably roam around (as my walker is slightly taller and at earlier days she was too short for her feed to touch the ground). She started walking at abt 10mths and running at 12 months. So I didn't use it for too long too.

yes current her feet still can't rch the floor... I wan put her in cost easier to feed if not she turn around

Actually if u see the health booklet, it is not recommended to put baby in walker - not good for leg muscle and bone development (strengthening of the "wrong" muscles as they like to use their toes a lot) But it's up to individual - if u think it's ok - if it's for a while then go ahead Generally when baby is able to sit well

It is not advisable to use a baby walker as it can placed the baby to danger by allowing the baby to access to things (sharp or hot objects) or places (ie: kitchen, toilet). I will advise you to try the excersaucer or jumperoo or a push walker if you are looking at toys that can train your baby to walk

Actually, it is not advisable for a child to sit in a walker as it allow the child to access to areas that might not be safe for the child(ie: the kitchen, to topple down a chair) There are many child friendly equipment to train the child's leg muscles to walk (ie: push walker, exersaucer)

I put my baby at 4 months plus she start walking around the house around 5 months plus to 6 months now she can easy run around the whole house playing with her brother n sister btw all my 4 kids I put them on walker my elder son start walking at 10 months start running at his 1st birthday

Probably after 6 months when your LO's neck is more stable. You might wanna start with just awhile and slower extend over the time. However please note that walker is dangerous in a way that they tends to pull anything as they go. Hence supervision is required at all times.

Agreed. However, u can consider using stroller/ highchair instead.

I would advise not to put walker too based on personal experience. My son loves to sit in walker but however when he starts walking he will walk on tip toes and often falls down. Took me more than 1 year to correct it and for him to walk properly
