It is still in time to apply since you are still in the 1st trimester. I would like to recommend Mustela StretchMark Cream. I like the light smell and not very oily. Also, it is made of natural ingredients and doesn't contain chemicals (no parabens, phthalates, phenoxyethanol, bisphenols A and S, ca eine and alcohol). The main ingredient is Avocado peptides, which help to increase skin's elasticity. Also, it is safe to be used during breastfeeding. You can purchase it online here and it costs about $60 for 250ml. http://www.pupsikstudio.com/mustela-maternite-stretch-marks-prevention-cream-fragrance-free-250ml.html I used Clarins Oil during my first pregnancy, and Mustela for my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. So far I do not have any stretchmark on my belly. The reason I switched to Mustela is partly because Clarins Oil is too oily for me. Some tips to share when applying any brand of stretchmark cream/oil: - apply right after shower so the skin can absorb it faster - apply in circular motion on the belly and gently massage it (not too hard) - apply on thighs too as the areas will get stretchmarks due to expansion.

I started applying as soon as I found out that I was pregnant! I did so because my mum had very serious stretch mark issues. I would switch between an Out of Africa cocoa butter that my friend bought for me, as well as Bio Oil and Palmer's stretch mark cream available in any Watson's or Guardian or even NTUC. Unfortunately stretch marks cannot be prevented and it's also linked to genetics. If your mother had stretch marks then most likely you'll be more prone to have them too. For my case I couldn't avoid it. http://www.m.webmd.com/baby/features/stretch-marks You can try to get back your pre-pregnancy skin by eating food rich in antioxidants, exercise or continuously applying stretch mark creams. http://www.m.webmd.com/baby/features/stretch-marks

Do start early! While stretch marks are genetic, they can be lightened if you moisturise your skin. My friend used lots of Bio Oil and she didn't have a single stretchmark even after two pregnancies. She also applied it under her breasts and on her thighs and back. Apart from regularly applying stretchmark creams and oils, consumption of collagen may help in maintaining elasticity of the skin. http://sg.theasianparent.com/top-5-stretch-mark-creams-shopping-guide-special/ http://sg.theasianparent.com/pregnancy-concerns-stretch-marks/

You can start using as early as when you discover that you are pregnant! I believe that it's better to start early as different women have different bodies conditions. There are mommies who only start to have more obvious baby bump at close to end of second trimester while some mommies have obvious baby bump earlier. Remember to apply on your whole waist area including the sides and back of your waist. Also apply on your thigh and butt as these are area where we can have stretch marks too!
