When does a child start sleeping on his own?

It depends on how you hone your kid's sleeping habits and routine. My daughter is 5-year-old, and when she hasn't slept in the afternoons, she sleeps on her own. All that I have to do is give her a tight hug and a few kisses. By the time a kid is four, or a little more, he/she can be made to sleep on his own.
