I started buying after 20th week when I know the gender of my baby. I prefer to know the gender first so that it was easier for me to choose the designs of my baby's items. Some of the essential things that you can get before your baby's arrival: 1. Swaddle 2. A pieces of rompers. Do not buy too many as you may be receiving some during baby shower. 3. playpen as baby's bed 4. Mittens and bootees 5. Blanket 6. Baby mattress to be placed in the playpen 7. Baby wipes and diapers 8. Pump 9. Milk bottles 10. Nursing pads 11. Changing mat 13. Bathing tub 14. Wash cloths 15. Baby bathing soap

I started when I was 12 weeks pregnant. Don't worry if you get shocked after looking at lists of "newborn essentials", because most of them are actually not necessary. The bare basics are: Diapers Baby bassinet/co-sleeper A few side opening rompers, mittens, booties Swaddles/Muslin cloths Cotton buds, gauze Steriliser The rest you can get according to your baby's needs when your baby is out. Remember - your baby really only needs a clean butt, full tummy, safe place to sleep and lots of hugs.

Do check around with ur close friends see if they don't need anything and want to pass u, if you don't mind. If not, after you buy already and they don't need and want to pass u, like wasted to buy extra. My cousin pass me a big baby cot, have been using it till now going to 3 years. Save a lot of money from different things too. I will start looking out at baby fair for sales, so can save a lot, as the price during this time is better than normal days price. So i will shop bit by bit for all the things.

It depends on person to person. Some start after 4 or 5 months into the pregnancy while others start close to their 8 months or so. In my case, I didn't shop myself, but my sister-in-law got all the things that are required during my baby shower. Sadly, I lost my mother when I was 7 months pregnant, and to shop somehow didn't cross my mind. And when my sister-in-law got all those things for the baby to be born, I felt so emotional and touched.

I was kiasu, and started the moment I found out at 15 weeks! I had a strong hunch that it was going to be a boy (but if I'm wrong, my would have been girl will have to suck it up lol) so I went mad each time I walked past Cotton On Kids, H&M kids and Isetan. I bought most of the baby essentials during the babyfair at Expo. Baby bottles, stroller, carrier, sterillizer and more. It was so much cheaper to buy there!

I started shopping for the baby at around 6 months -- the prime reason was that there was a huge sale on big items like stroller, crib etc. However, I waited a little longer to get the essentials like newborn clothes, safety kit, etc. Around the 8th month should be fine when you can still move around easily and aren't concerned about nearing the due date.

I started sopping for baby stuff when I was 7 months pregnant with both babies. My mom who's very traditional advised me not to buy any stuff until I reach my third trimester. She has a lot of beliefs that I don't want to question anymore, besides there's nothing to lose if I start buying things towards the end of my pregnancy.

Only during the 3rd trimester that's when I start buying things for my unborn baby. At least by that time, I already know the gender of the baby so it's easier for us to choose the color and the design we want. Although I think it wouldn't hurt also if you opt to buy few things during the early stages of your pregnancy.

There's some old wives tales that we shdnt get anything till our fetus is stable. Don't know what's the significance but I choose to believe; safer rather than sorry. Perhaps you wana start buying after the detailed scan. By then you will be able to know gender and easier to select the clothings and stuffs as well.
