When can my baby sleep without a hat or without being swaddled?

i stop swaddling after first mth. but at night i still swaddle cos he sleeps in aircon room. and during nighttime we tend to react slower and baby if not swaddled may cry at night & if we didnt hear (becos we fell asleep), they may cry too long and tummy may haf too much gas..
