First pair of walking shoes

Hi! What was your baby's first pair of walking shoes? My baby just started walking (but he gets a little scared so he will sit after like 7 steps? Still learning haha) and I'd like to get proper shoes for a toddler who is learning to walk. Got him all the cool Nikes, Vans and Crocs slip ons and they're super cute but my baby keeps tripping over them. Any shoes to recommend for beginners? Thank you! Side note: I'm aware that it's best to let them learn to walk barefooted, but I'd like to get shoes for him when we go for outdoor walks etc because everytime we're outdoors he gets so eager and excited to walk 🤣
