What does feed on demand means

What does feed on demand means? My baby usually feed every 2-3 hours but alot of times by 1 or 1.5hr he’s already asking for milk. Sometimes can even hear his stomach growl? By feeding on demands means give milk whenever he ask ? He’s formula fed, 1.5 months, 90ml

Feeding on demand means when baby cries for milk you give. No schedule, no fixed timings. Babies are smart so when they are full, they will push out the teats. Main signs of overfeeding are frequent spit ups (in more than usual burping amount) or vomiting. Hope this helps!
