Most common misconception here in the Philippines is that Health Management Organizations (HMOs) are the same with health insurance, which apparently not. HMOs like Intellicare, Maxicare, Medicard, Philcare, etc. do not offer insurance, they offer medical assistance. While health insurance, usually packaged with life plans, offers hospitaization allowance, lump sum, and sometimes covers critical illnesses that HMOs do not cover. You can check Maxicare, Medicard and PhilCare. Philcare has lower rates for children. You can check their website at www.philcare.com.ph. But if you will get a health insurance for your whole family, Maxicare is still the best. :)
Most of the members of our family got their health insurance from Maxi Care for the reason that it is not hard to process their claims and there is a high limit for hospitalization for each Maxicare holder.. :)
